[S9E6]: Catalina Cat Fight
Fun music plays as we get shots of Beverly Beach. The camera focuses in on the many beachfront establishments.
The camera pans to The Beach Haus, the vibrant new day club and restaurant on the beach. The camera pans to a blacked out SUV pulling up to the front and Valentina Armani getting out.
Valentina: “I’ve got a table for two under Armani!”
Joelle [Hostess]: “Oh! Your friend is already here, he’s sat himself over there…” She points to a nearby table.
Valentina grins and rushes over.
Valentina: “ALEKOS! Look at you! Who are you all dressed up for?!” She laughs and gives him a hug.
Alekos [Valentina’s Friend]: “You know I had to look good for the eye candy here, I mean there’s so many men, I don’t know what to do with myself.” He laughs and looks around.
As we get shots of the attractive men dining in The Beach Haus and the staff. Valentina’s confessional begins playing.
“Today I’m meeting Alekos, my hairdresser. He has been a dear friend of mine for MANY years. Actually when I relocated from Miami to Beverly Beach I paid for him to move here too. He is also someone who’s a safe person for me. With my mom being in my house I need someone who I can vent to and I know it won’t leave this table and used as gossip behind my back.”
The waitress comes over to their table.
Aubrey: “Hi, I’m Aubrey and welcome to The Beach Haus! What can I get you all started with?”
Valentina: “I’ll do a class of Sauvignon Blanc and the Summer Pear Salad, thanks.”
Alekos: “I will do a Belvedere soda with a lemon twist and then the red snapper, thanks doll.”
As the waitress walks away, Alekos looks at Valentina and smiles.
Alekos: “How is it with Katarina back in town? I know how she can cause you to get riled up and act out.”
Valentina: “Honestly Alekos, not fucking great.” She sighs.
Valentina: “I’ve been drinking like a sailor in preparation of her arrival. She got here a couple weeks ago and her and Brandon started right in on each other, he picked up some projects so he’s not at the house that often. But when they are in the same room, no bueno.” She shakes her head. “She just has this vile side to her and I know she’s capable of some things you would not even think of.”
Alekos: “So, what do you mean by that?”
We see Alekos makes a face as Aubrey brings out the drinks.
Valentina: “Listen my mother is not who she portrays herself as. She thrives on misery.” She takes the first sip of her wine.
“I’ll never forget when I was in college I was dating this basketball player and I’ll never forget her purposing trying to sabotage my relationship by getting other girls to try and message him so I would think he was cheating.”
Valentina: “This nasty side of her didn’t surface until she got a divorce from my dad who practically destroyed her, and I was just three years old when this was going on.” She frowns a bit. “Growing up my mother would do anything in her power to make my life miserable. If I looked pretty that day she told me I was too thin and that no man would ever want to be with a twig. She has pretty much been the reason I have never felt comfortable in my body unless it’s absolutely perfect.”
Alekos gasps.
Valentina: “Or when I got with my college boyfriend she paid girls to flirt with him so we would break up.”
Alekos: “She did that?! Really?! From my interactions with her she’s always been lovely!” He looks shocked.
Valentina: “That’s because she’s Katrina Windsor. She knows how to put on a good facade for the people.” She rolls her eyes.
“My mother was actually a pretty well known actress in the 80s. She starred along side Robert Di Nero. She did a couple Martin Scorsese films. Started with indie films and she worked her way up. But, unfortunately, any of the money she made back then from acting is completely gone by now.”
Alekos: “Oh wow, Val my gal, I am so sorry!” He reaches over and squeezes her hand. “Listen, your secrets are safe with me. Us gays are the best friends you’ll ever have. You are my girl for life, plus you’ve always been beautiful and I’m glad I can enhance that beauty by doing your hair!”
Valentina: “Aww Ale Ale, I just adore you! It just doesn’t help that her and Brandon do not get along and have never seen eye to eye. Brandon has hardly spoken to me since she got here and now he’s away for 10 days working on a movie. It just makes me paranoid that my mother has something to do with it, and I’ll be damned if my mother comes between me and my happy home.
Alekos snaps.
Alekos: “That’s right bitch!! You tell em’! Let’s just try and drink and forget about the worries at home! Here’s to Val being fine as Italian wine and that Katarina can kiss her ass if she don’t like it!”
Valentina laughs.
Valentina: “You always get me out of my funk, thank you so much for meeting me for lunch! Can we just make this a weekly thing and you just be my therapist? I’m going to need it.” She nervously laughs.
“God thank you for sending me a gay best friend. Gays are just so much more fun, loyal and all around better to be around than regular bitches!” She laughs. “Some of my best times have been with gay people! As they told me WERK BITCH!” She snaps. “This was a nice distraction from my home life drama.”
The scene ends with Valentina and Alekos clinking their glasses together as their food arrives.
The camera follows Monsè and her husband, Gil, as they get out of their car and walk into a building.
Inside, we see it is a therapist’s office as the couple walks up to the front desk.
Monsè: “Hi, we’re here for an appointment with Dr. Harris. Monsé and Gil DeRosier.”
Receptionist: “Great, I’ll take you back now.”
The receptionist gets up and leads Gil and Monsè into a hallway that takes them into the office.
“The tension between me and Gil has been a lot lately. We’ve never had a fight like this in our entire marriage, not even when we were teenagers. Every time we try to have a conversation, it devolves into an argument, so I suggested going to couples therapy.”
We see Monsè and Gil walk into Dr. Harris’s office and greet her.
Dr. Harris: “Hello Monsè and Gil, it’s really great to see you two again. Please, take a seat!”
The camera zooms in on Gil as he places his hand on Monsè’s knee once sat, she flinches.
“I’m hoping we can actually get to the root of the issue today so we can go back to being the power couple we’ve always been.”
Dr. Harris puts on her glasses and takes out a pad of paper.
Dr. Harris: “Thank you both for coming today. I know it can be hard to ask for help, but the fact that you’ve shown up tells me you’re both willing to take a step in the right direction.” She smiles. “So, Monsé, why don’t we start with you? Tell me why you’re here today.”
Monsè: “I’m really overwhelmed right now. I have so much going on in my career and with our son. I thought I could lean on Gil to help out, but ever since his decisions put a financial strain on us, it feels like it’s all on me to clean up. And the frustrating thing is that I had nothing to do with it in the first place.”
We see Dr. Harris writing things down and nodding along to Monsè.
Dr. Harris: “Thank you, Monsè.” She now turns to Gil. “Gil, tell me what exactly you’re feeling right now.”
Gil: “I feel like Monsé is throwing me under the bus, like I’m the only one who made bad decisions. I have financial advisors and investors to answer to, and it feels like I’m the only person she wants to blame for this mess. It’s not fair.”
We get a shot of Monsè as she clenches her jaw and rolls her eyes a bit.
Dr. Harris: “Thank you for sharing. It sounds like you’re both feeling unsupported and maybe a bit unappreciated by each other…” She looks between the couple. “Monsé, how would you like Gil to support you better through this time?”
Monsè: “I want him to take responsibility for his part in the whole fiasco and be more involved.”
Gil: “Monsè, listen, I’ve already told you I’m sor — “
Monsè shakes her head furiously and cuts Gil off.
Monsè: “I don’t need anymore ‘sorrys’.” She looks to Dr. Harris. “I need him to be my partner. I don’t have time to take care of another person.”
Gil: “I’ve taken responsibility! I completely own that I went along with a stupid plan to make some quick revenue and that I should’ve known it would go south. But I’ve put in extra hours to fix this, too, and you never give me credit for it!”
Monsè: “You want credit for a bad situation that you fixed but ultimatly put us both in this position?!” She looks at him.
Dr. Harris: “Clearly, there’s some strong feelings here, and that’s understandable. Monsé, do you hear Gil when he says he’s committed to finding a solution to the issue as well?”
Monsè: “I hear him, but I don’t know how I can trust him after this. I’m scared he’ll make another wrong move, and we’ll really be in trouble.”
Gil: “Wow…” He looks over at Monsè, in shock.
Monsè shrugs.
Gil: “That’s how you really feel, Monsè?”
Monsè: “Yes. That’s how I really feel.”
Monsè crosses her arms and Gil’s head drops and he buries his face in his hands.
“There’s always risks in business, I get it. But Gil took some really stupid risks for a quick payout, and now we’re paying the price. He knew better than that after ten years in the business, but he went for it anyway. How can I trust his judgment after that?”
Dr. Harris: “Gil, what Monsé just said seems to have an impact on you. Tell Monsé how that comment made you feel.”
Gil looks up and takes a deep breath.
Gil: “I feel really hurt that you would say that after everything I’ve supported you through. I’m the one who kept the company running when you wanted to stay at home. I took on more responsibility with Bastien when you decided to become Phoebe’s manager!” He starts to get visibally upset. “Hell, I put my whole life in the spotlight just so you could be on a reality TV show! But you don’t trust me?!” He shakes his head. “Yeah, that’s really nice.”
Dr. Harris looks to Monsè for a repsonse, she just sits there for a moment in silence.
Monsè: “I mean, I don’t know what you want me to say…” She glances at Gil. “ None of those things put our family at risk. I can’t help how I feel.”
Gil scoffs and shakes his head.
Gil: “Wow. That’s fine, Monsè. Feel how you want to feel then.”
Dr. Harris sighs and takes off her glasses.
Dr. Harris: “It looks like we’ve come to the end of our time today, but I want you guys to come back next week. There’s obviously a lot here to unpack, and it won’t be fixed overnight. Remember, you just have to take it one day at a time.”
Gil quickly gets up and makes a bee-line out of the room, leaving only Monsè and Dr. Harris.
Monsè: “Thank you, Dr. Harris.” She sighs and gets up. “Yeah, see you next week.”
The scene fades as Monsè walks out of the room.
The camera pans to the marina where we see the ‘Wives have gathered. They board a big boat, ‘The Catalina Express’.
We hear the boat horn and it takes off.
The camera focuses on Serena who sits on one of the seats in the main cabin. Violette walks in and joins her, taking a seat right next to her.
Serena: “Hey darling!”
Violette: “Hi honey…are you excited for this weekend?”
Serena: “ I’m very excited about this weekend. How about you?”
Violette: “I’m actually very excited. I love weddings! Who doesn’t?” She laughs. “Although it is a bit strange, I’ve never been to a re-wedding.” She raises an eyebrow.
Serena: “Yeah, I’m actually excited about seeing this family come together. Yvonne and Horace belong to each other.”
Violette: “I couldn’t agree more, Serena.”
“I’m so excited to go to this wedding. I’m a sucker for a cute wedding. Catalina Island is beautiful! Yvonne was smart for this backdrop!”
The camera pans to show Victoria walking over to join the ‘Wives.
Victoria: “Hello beautiful ladies!” She smiles and sits.
Serena: “Hello! Come on jeans!”
Victoria: “Miss Serena, you look amazing!” She reaches over for a hug.
Violette: “Now who is this beautiful lady?” She looks at Victoria.
Serena: “This is Victoria! Victoria, this is Violette!”
Victoria: “Forgive me! I’m Victoria.” She extends her hand to Violette for a hand shake.
Violette: “It’s very nice to meet you.” She shakes her hand.
“I’m actually glad to be spending time with Victoria and Violette! These two ladies have fashion, wealth and businesses! I love boss women!”
Violette: “So, Victoria, what do you do for work?” She takes a drink from her water bottle.
Victoria: “Well I don’t know if you’re familiar with it, but I’m a realtor, it’s not the realtor you expect.” She chuckles. “I buy properties, flip them and rent them out. Basically I pimp houses!” She winks.
Violette: “ Ah, I like I like. Boss bitch.” She smiles and nods. “Are you married or dating anyone?”
Victoria: “Yes, I currently am dating someone!”
Violette: “Nice! Now, are you on friendly terms with everyone going to the wedding?” She raises an eyebrow.
“I have a tendency to be a bit nosy. Well, I wouldn’t say I’m nosy — but I just like to know stuff.”
“But it sounded better the way I said.” She laughs.
Victoria: “Well I hope! I just got back on good terms with the bridezilla Yvonne, she and I actually had an issue when it came down to one of my properties.” She sips her Arnold Palmer. “One of my clients didn’t like the painting she put in there and wanted it gone, you guys know Yvonne and how sensitive she is about her art!”
Violette: “Oh….hm….” She twirls her hair. “That is a bit interesting you mention Yvonne, actually. She and I are becoming good friends, but she did kind of throw me under the bus recently at another event”
Victoria: “Girl, shut up?! How’d she throw you under the bus?”
Violette: “I just was talking about getting to know the other girls and I just mentioned that I felt Valentina was a bit belligerent and she indulged in it and then when we were all together as a group, she kind of threw it out there without me expecting it.” She laughs and shrugs.
“Hearing Victoria mention her tension with Yvonne was kind of an eye opener. I like Yvonne, I do. But… I also am not blind. I can’t forget she completely threw me under the bus at her event with Valentina. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice…” She shakes her head. “Nobody fools me twice.”
Violette: “It was totally catty. I’m assuming she must do things like this often…”
We see Serena biting her lip. The scene switches as Victoria and Violette look at one another.
Out on the deck, we see Monsè, Yvonne, and Valentina.
Monsè: “Ahh I can’t wait for this trip ladies!”
Valentina: “Girls, this view up here is so beautiful!”
Monsè: “Yvonne, thanks again for the invite to Catalina. And the wedding, of course!” She turns to her.
Yvonne: “Yeah, you should really thank your friend Valentina. If dance doesn’t work out, she could be a decent lawyer.”
Monsè laughs.
Monsè: “Regardless of who’s the reason I’m invited, I’m still happy to celebrate your big day.”
“Clearly Hell has frozen over because not only am I on my way to Catalina to celebrate Yvonne’s wedding but I’ve even been invited to the damn thing. Apparently, miracles do exist, chile.”
The women walk up to the railing to look out at the ocean.
Yvonne: “Speaking of big days, we had quite the event at my home the other evening…” She sighs. “Valentina was all out screaming, Marcie couldn’t lift her head- just bawling her eyes out, and poor Olivia trying to console her.” She looks to Monsè. “Did Valentina fill you in?”
Monsè looks in shock and turns to Valentina with a very surprised look on her face.
Monsè: “Uh uh, why am I just hearing about this mess Miss Val? Tell me everything.”
Valentina: “Oh my god Monsè, I have been so shook up since that, Yvonne. I haven’t wanted to talk about it! It was all a mess.”
Yvonne: “Monsè, your great friend here blurted out that Jon — Marcie’s husband — is an abuser and things spiraled WAY out of control.”
Monsè gasps.
Monsè: “Oh my god, Valentina! Why did you say that? Is it true?”
Yvonne: “I was actually disappointed in you, Valentina.”
Valentina sighs as she looks at Monsè and then back at Yvonne.
Valentina: “Yvonne I’m really sorry I did that at your dinner.” She puts her hands on her chest. “That’s all I can really apologize for but other than that I spoke my truth and honestly Olivia was the one that kept pushing for me to say it.” She crosses her arms.
Yvonne: “Valentina, you still don’t see the issue. Marcie is not in a good situation and you making light of what she faces at home and then showing your bruises to force her into a confession was dead fucking wrong!” She glances at Monsè. “Back me up, Monsè!”
Monsè: “Look I don’t know what all went down, but regardless Val that’s low to out someone’s business don’t you think? You’re better than that. ”
Valentina: “I had to have my own meeting with production to check on my well being. Sure I’m upset that we are in this place and that I basically outed her problems at home. I guess I can work on my delivery.”
Monsè: “Maybe you should apologize and have a conversation with her soon.”
Valentina: “I think when we get back from this trip I’ll talk to her. Plus I don’t want things to go south and it ruin your wedding, Yvonne. I’m actually enjoying this place we are are in!”
Yvonne: “What is it with this group? Everyone’s having problems- you, Marcie, Violette…”
Valentina: “If you only knew the half of it, Yvonne.”
Monsè and Valentina share a glance. Yvonne catches it and looks at the duo.
Yvonne: “What do you two backstabbing batches know that I don’t?”
Monsè: “Well we don’t know for sure but Violette’s relationship is a little weird don’t you think?”
Yvonne nods a bit and fixes her hair.
Monsè: “I mean seeing each other only once a month. They can’t be the only ones… satisfying each other if you know what I mean.”
Yvonne: “Once a month?!? What the hell — is she the homewrecking harlot in this scenario?? No way a man who’s happily in a relationship sees his main woman only once every 30 days.” She shakes her head.
Valentina: “Monsè and I have gotten wind from someone reliable that maybe Violette and Jean-Luc are in…an open relationship.”
Monsè: “It makes sense. Why else would she put up with that long engagement nonsense-sense for three years?”
“I don’t want to talk behind Violette’s back when we’ve just started a new friendship, but I’m worried about her! This doesn’t sound like a healthy relationship, let alone a marriage. I also just want her to be real with us!”
Yvonne: “Did messy Olivia tell you this?” She laughs.
Monsè: “No, a friend of a friend. That’s besides the point. But I don’t want this to turn into a big thing, I’m just worried about Violette’s happiness. Right, Val?”
Valentina: “Yes, because I like Violette, but I do want to see herself in a happy marriage and a happy home!” She smiles.
Yvonne raises an eyebrow.
Yvonne: “Well, thank you two for enlightening me.”
“Monsè is a backstabbing bitch, as I said earlier. Worried about her happiness? Then why bring this to the group, ma’am? At least be a little smarter about your mess! Maybe Olivia does need to take her under her wing- she’s got her strategy down for being conniving.”
The scene changes as Olivia and Marcie walking to the bar on the Catalina Express together.
“While we had some alone time before we got to the island, I wanted to pull Marcie to the side and check in with her after all the mess at Yvonne’s dinner the other night.”
Olivia and Marcie sit at the bar and each order a cocktail.
Olivia: “Thanks for coming over to have a cocktail with me away from the ladies. I wanted to check in with you after all that mess.”
Marcie: “What mess?” She tries to play it off. “I think Valentina was just wasted, you know…”
Olivia: “I’m talking about your abusive husband — you know; we’ve talked about this.”
Marcie looks a bit taken aback.
“Im not going to go around in circles or act like I don’t know what we’ve talked about as close friends.” She shrugs. “Let’s be open and honest.”
Marcie: “…Look he’s not abusive. I mean not physically. I know what Valentina said but I promote she’s just a bit off the alcohol.”
The bartender hands Olivia and Marcie their drinks and they thank him.
Olivia: “How is Mikey?” She sips her martini.
Marcie: “Mike is doing.. about as well as a kid does when they find out their parents are having problems. He drove back to school right after a really awkward dinner with Jon and I.. I hope he doesn’t hate me.” She looks upset.
Olivia: “He doesn’t hate you; I can assure you.” She shakes her head. “If you want, I can ask Raul to check in with him? I know they have their own brotherhood going on being in the same fraternity and such.” She sighs. “I’m worried about you, girlfriend.”
Marcie: “Yes that’d be nice, an insiders scope of things would be good. Just so I know how much attention or how little he might want during this time. I want to know that he’s assured that he’s still loved and that his father and I aren’t separated. Simply facing difficulties, of a MINOR magnitude.”
“I don’t want to say ‘Jonathon hits me’ because that becomes a headline. I want to say what I can the best way I can, when I know how. When I’ve had that conversation with Mike will be when the world knows. Mark it.”
Olivia: “With all due respect, I don’t know about all this being minor…what Val said…that’s major. He’s lucky she hasn’t went to the authority’s…”
Marcie: “Listen to me, Olivia. What Valentina is saying is alcohol embellished! She doesn’t remember!” She shakes her head. “She doesn’t remember physically assaulting me either! I don’t think it’s fair we accept her word as fact.”
Olivia: “Where did her bruises come from? Look, Valentina grates my nerves. I find her to be a bit uncouth and think she needs to reign in her behavior — but the bruises…were real.”
Marcie: “I’m not saying he didn’t TOUCH HER!” She yells a bit before reigning it in. “Sorry. Anyways, my point is he definitely touched her and shouldn’t have but her allegation that he is ‘BEATING THE SHIT OUT OF MARCIE’ isn’t true!”
Olivia nods and narrows her eyes.
Olivia: “Marcie, he physically harmed your female friend — who’s to say he won’t do it to you?” She grabs Marcie’s hand. “ I know you don’t want to hear that and I know it stings but I am scared for you. Even more so now then ever before.”
“I’m really, really worried. Infact, I’m terrified. If Jon was willing to put his hands on Valentina, what will he do to his wife?”
The camera pans to Marcie who looks frazzled and distraught.
Marcie: “ I don’t know what you want me to do or say Olivia. I’m not leaving Jonathon, we have things to work on definitely but he’s not just beating me left and right or I would have bruises right?”
Olivia: “You would absolutely have bruises and I just…I don’t know — “
“Jonathon has.. moments. He’s no saint but this accusation that he’s some evil woman beater is too far. It’s low.”
Olivia: “I don’t want to be out of line but…he bruised her. It’s not long before he harms you. That’s what I’m scared of.” She holds Marcie’s hand tighter.
Marcie: “Olivia.. that’s the father of my son. If Jonathon comes home and gets physical with me you will know.” She looks at her friend.
“I’m not willing to discuss that yet.. because the day I do changes everything in my life.”
Olivia: “As long as you know I am here for you. No dramatics like those other girls at Yvonne’s. Call me. Text me. Send a smoke signal, bitch! If you need me I am there.” She smiles at Marcie.
Marcie gets up and hugs Olivia.
Marcie: “Thank you, now let’s go enjoy this beautiful boat ride right?!”
Olivia: “Yes ma’am!”
The scene fades.
The next scene begins as we get incredible shots of Santa Catalina Island. We see the beautiful Mount Orizaba, the highest point of the island. The camera goes from the peak down into the the town of Avalon, the island’s only permanent settlement.
We get shots of the ‘Wives on a golfcart tour around Avalon. The scene lands on them as the tour is ending. They thank their tour guide as all of the women pile out of their golf carts and walk up to a restaurant situated right on the beach. The host leads them to their private table out on the deck.
“Lunchtime! I’m so excited to formally welcome the ladies to a weekend of love, celebrating Horace and I’s reunification.”
The camera focuses on Yvonne, Valentina, Monsè, Olivia and Violette who are the first to make it to the table.
Violette: “This spread looks absolutely fabulous! The view is everything!” She gasps and looks out at the sea.
Monsè: “This place is gorgeous! I can’t believe I’ve never been to Catalina. I hope the food’s as good as the view, mama is starving.”
We see Valentina turn to Yvonne as she sits.
Valentina: “Yvonne, this really is beautiful. You are doing much better on this trip compared to Hawaii.” She laughs a bit.
Yvonne: “It helps when someone isn’t trying to hijack your agenda.” She raises an eyebrow.
Valentina: “Oh, it was a compliment, Yvonne!” She grabs a rose off the table. “Let’s have a good time and celebrate the bride to be!” She smiles.
Olivia: “A good time, yes! Not a drunkem disaster type lunch…” She glances at Valentina. “Classy, like Yvonne!” She smiles and fixes her hair.
Violette looks over at Olivia and smirks at her shade; Valentina just rolls her eyes. The camera pans to show Victoria, Serena, and Marcie joining the other ‘Wives at the table.
“I’m not excited to see Valentina.. because obviously, but I’m hopeful she’s not going to be screaming about my personal life tonight. Let’s just show Yvonne some love!”
Marcie takes a seat on the opposite side of the table from Valentina. We now see Victoria and Serena taking their seats.
Victoria: “Hello, hello, helllloooo!”
Monsè: “Hey Miss Vicky!”
The camera pans to Olivia who eyes Victoria up and down.
Olivia: “Oh, hello, we haven’t officially met yet on the boat. I’m Olivia J. Blake, and you are? A friend of the bride I suppose?”
Yvonne: “Yes! For those of you who haven’t formally met her, this is my friend Victoria Franklin! She’s a realtor in Beverly Beach.”
Victoria: “Yes, yes!” She smiles and nods.
Olivia: “Lovely to meet you, Mrs. Franklin.”
Violette: “She’s fabulous from what I’ve gathered of her so far.”
Victoria: “Aw, thank you honey!” She smiles at Violette.
“She’s fabulous for sharing intel.”
We see the ‘Wives all put in their drink and food orders before the conversation continues again.
Serena: “So Yvonne, are you excited?!? How are you feeling?!?”
Yvonne: “I’m feeling good.” She nods. “I hope that everyone feels the love radiating from Horace and I. Second time is the best time!” She grins.
Serena: “I love it! Seeing a family reconcile is so amazing to see!”
Valentina: “I can’t believe you and Horace are tying the knot again!”
Marcie: “It’s actually amazing to think about it! Finding love again!”
Violette: “I’m happy for you, Yvonne!” She smiles at her.
Yvonne: “Thank you ladies for the well wishes!”
A pair of waiters come back over and start distributing everyone’s drinks out. The camera focuses on Monsè who is receiving a tequila soda with some lime.
Monsè: “Thank you.” She smiles and then turns to Violette. “So Violette, with all this wedding talk how is this all making you feel about your big day? Any pre-wedding jitters?”
Yvonne: “She’s having a wedding?” She raises an eyebrow and turns to Violette.
Violette: “Oh, no no.” She chuckles. “The wedding talk is fine. I’m really not that nervous about my wedding yet because…I’d have to decide on a date first.” She laughs and sips her drink.
Olivia: “Oh, Vi. I though you all set a date and didn’t tell me.” She clutches her chest and laughs. “Good to know you all are still lollygagging.” She shrugs and sneaks in a smile.
Yvonne: “You’re a patient woman, Violette. Three years of engagement…”
Olivia: “Patience is important!”
The camera quickly pans to Victoria who has a look on her face.
Victoria: “After three years, is the ring turning green yet?” She mumbles to Serena.
As Serena covers her face, chuckling. We see Marcie hear and crack a smile.
“Not a green ring!” She chuckles. “I love Victoria.”
The focus goes back to the conversation at hand.
Violette: “You know, I am very patient, yes.” She shifts in her seat. “I think we’re just not rushing. You know? I feel like we’re kind of complacent.” She shrugs and takes a drink.
Monsè: “Okay, I just wanted to make sure it wasn’t for any other reason. I hope everything is okay…people have been talking.” She looks to Violette. “But, I’m sure you guys will get there in your own time.” She shurgs and flips her hair.
We get a shot of Violette looking caught off guard, Serena shakes her head.
Yvonne: “Oh, God…”
Violette: “People have been talking? About what? There’s rumors about me?” She looks to Monsè, confused.
Olivia: “Gossiping, gals?” She looks around the table.
“I am completely taken aback right now. I didn’t know there was any chatter about my life. Are these women that desperate to find dirt on me? I’m confused.”
Monsè: “I know you and Jean-Luc are strong, but the streets are saying that you guys are in an open relationship. Is that true?”
Violette’s jaw drops and the ‘Wives at the table look to her.
“The Messy Monsè train ALWAYS arrives on time! That’s my girl!” She laughs.
Olivia: “The streets? What? Come on, girls.” She rolls her eyes at Monsè.
“I don’t think the relationship is open. Brandon has never told me anything about that and I’m sure Jean-Luc would have told his buddy if he was allowed to sex multiple women.” She laughs.
Monsè: “No judgement! If that’s what works, great! But I just want to make sure you’re happy. You’re such a sweet gal.” She smiles a little and sips her drink.
“I absolutely think Violette has a right to know what’s being said about her in Beverly Beach. And if she’s not happy, then I want support her in finding a better relationship. It’s all love!”
The camera pans back to Violette for her response.
Violette: “Oh, come on. An open relationship? Really? Where did you hear that from?”
Serena shakes her head in disapproval and looks to Monsè.
“Here comes miserable Monsè! Butting her long neck into other people’s business, yet again! You write a script that sells and stay in your lane.”
Serena: “Let’s stop with the rumors. We know how you got when the same streets was calling you and husband broke actors living off of your sister, Monsé.”
The ‘Wives all look to Serena, in shock at her speaking up.
Olivia: “Nuh uh.” She laughs a bit at Serena.
We see Violette smile slightly and nod approvingly at Serena. The camera pans to Monsè who clenches her jaw and narrows her eyes at Serena.
Monsè: “Well, my streets are a little more reliable than the whispers in your salon, chile.”
Serena: “Okay?” She chuckles. “Let’s even say that’s true…what is all of this to you?! You don’t have to sleep with them!”
Yvonne: “Mmm!” She nods.
Monsè: “I — “ She rolls her eyes and turns back to Violette. “I only brought it up because I want to support you, Violette. If you’re not happy in your relationship, you shouldn’t settle for a man that you have to share!”
Violette: “I hear what you’re saying, but it just looks a certain way right now.” She shrugs. “Just let me sleep on it.”
Monsè nods and Violette sips her glass of wine.
“I feel a bit ambushed right now, I’m not gonna lie.” She shakes her head. “What Monsè did was very catty. I thought we were cool…”
Yvonne: “Ladies — I would love to interrupt…we need to wrap up here soon! We don’t want to be late for the submarine tour!”
Valentina: “Before we get out of here, let’s cheers to the bride to be! Shall we raise our glass!?”
Yvonne: “Cheers, bitches!”
The ‘Wives all raise their glasses.
Olivia: “Cheers to Yvonne Langley and HORACE!!!”
Violette: “Cheers!”
Serena: “CHEERS!”
Yvonne: “Woo hoo!”
The music picks up and the scene transitions.
We now see the women down at a marina walking out to a submarine that is partially submerged in water. The captain is on the dock eagerly waiting for the ‘Wives.
Olivia: “A submarine? I’ve always wanted to do this!”
“I hope this one doesn’t blow up like the submersible…too soon?”
Marcie: “A sub?! What?!” She looks at the submarine confused.
Victoria: “I can’t get this wet this is Brazilian!” She runs her fingers through her hair and stares at the vehicle.
The camera shows Serena and Val walking down the dock together. Valentina tip toes and hangs onto Serena.
Serena: “Girl, I’m nervous as hell! What the hell is this?”
Valentina: “I don’t think I wore the right stilettos for this…”
“A submarine?!? Whose idea was this? Y’all are just running out of things for us to do huh?”
Kyle: “Hi I’m Kyle and i’m your captain today here at Catalina Subs, I’m going to show you around the beautiful coastline of our island! Let’s climb aboard!”
Yvonne: “We’re headed south, WAYYY south!”
There is a montage of Kyle and another crew member helping the women board the submarine. We get shots of them each climbing down the ladder and into the small cabin.
Violette: “Ohhhhh noooooo! What the hell did I just agree to.”
Music plays as the ‘Wives look out at the sealife as Kyle takes them along the coastline. Inside, Victoria is seen laying her hands on the windows and rocking back and forth.
Victoria: “Please Jesus…”
Violette is seen taking videos out of the cabin windows. Yvonne is talking to the other crew member. We see Valentina FaceTiming her kids. We see Serena in a corner seat next to Monsè as Monsè and Marcie talk privately.
Monsè: “I really do like Violette, I brought it up because I want to know she’s okay and knows everything.”
Marcie: “I get it, it just wasn’t the best way I don’t think.”
The camera pans to Serena rolling her eyes, overhearing Monsè and Marcie.
Serena: “Olivia, do you mind trading seats?”
We see Olivia turn and look a bit surprised, she sits on the opposite end of the cabin.
Olivia: “Sure, Serena, that’s fine.”
Serena: “Thank you so much.”
Monsè and Marcie halt their conversation as Serena and Olivia trade seats. Monsè raises and eyebrow and watches as Serena walks past her.
“There was awkward banner between the ladies and Serena didn’t look comfortable sitting next to Monsè. I’m just trying to enjoy the submarine ride so I got up and switched seats to try and de-escalate the mess.”
Monsè: “Serena, do you have some sort of problem with me?” She looks at her, confused. “You came at me unprovoked at lunch and now you can’t even sit next to me?”
The submarine goes silent as the ladies look to Monsè.
Valentina: “Wait a second, what’s going on?” She hangs up her FaceTime call.
Serena: “Monsè, I have a problem with messy people. So yes, I have a problem with you.”
Olivia looks between the the girls, wide eyed. Marcie makes a face and we see Victoria sick in the corner.
Monsè: “Where is all the hostility coming from? You and I barely speak. I don’t think about you, so why are you so bothered by me?”
Serena: “You are the messiest girl here! And that baffles me because you are the least accomplished as well.”
Valentina: “Serena!”
Monsè: “Google me and see how accomplished I am babe. Don’t talk about things you don’t know, you look dumb!” She laughs.
Olivia: “Ladies; y’all switched seats let’s enjoy the ride and the ocean. We may see a beluga whale…”
Serena: “Hold on, Olivia. I’m just sick of it.” She turns back to Monsè.
Valentina’s eyes widen and Marcie chews her lip anxiously.
Serena: “Monsè! You are just messy and a snake!” She shakes her head. “You sat at lunch today and basically tried to embaress Violette at the table and now you’re trying to play it off like you care for her?”
Violette is seen staying silent and sucking in her cheeks.
Serena: “Last season you supported Val in her assault towards me. She and I moved past it. She apologized, you didn’t.”
Valentina is now shown making a face.
Valentina: “Wait what does those two incidents have any correlation, Serena?” She looks confused.
Serena: “She’s always gunning for mess. That’s one. Two, why would I befriend a lady who clearly was okay with me being hurt? We are not friends.”
Monsè rolls her eyes.
Monsè: “You always want to twist shit to make me look like the villain. I was asking Violette about her relationship so that we could all support her as a group.” She motions around. “What do I have to apologize to you for? I didn’t throw water on that Wish wig you parade around.”
Marcie: “That’s low!” She looks at Monsè.
Serena: “I don’t have to twist anything. You wake up everyday and are a villain. I don’t do anything.”
“What the hell is a ‘Wish’ wig?” She Googles it. “Oh? A discount store?” She laughs. “Monsè is so shady! But, wouldn’t it take a discount store shopper to know another one?” She winks. “Her hair pieces aren’t that great either.” She makes a face.
Serena: “The diffrence between you and I…” She points between herself and Monsè. “I will not insult you. Your life is all the insult you need. Just know I don’t like you nor do I trust you. You are a low level woman, human and wife. I wouldn’t dare say business owner.”
Monsè: “What’s really happening here is that you need something to talk about in this group so you’re making a problem out of old news with me, and that I’m not going to entertain.” She puts her hand up.
“Serena is a loser. If picking a fight with me is what gets her off, fine. But I’m not entertaining her bull shit anymore. I have more important business to attend to.”
Serena is now faking being asleep.
Serena: “Are you done?” She cracks one eye open.
Monsè: “I’ve been done honey. Keep my name out your mouth and we won’t have any more issues.” She sits back in her seat and crosses her arms.
Serena: “You should be glad somebody is mentioning that has been name. Your name is only connected to debt and Tubi low budgets.” She laughs hysterically.
Violette: “Oh wow…”
Olivia: “Ladies; enough! We are enjoying this submarine ride in honor of YVONNE and HORACE!”
Yvonne: “Thank you, Olivia.” She looks between Serena and Monsè. “Why don’t you both take a nap while we look at these fish?”
The camera lingers on Valentina.
“Just when I complimented Yvonne for her excelling hosting she puts us in a damn 10 person submarine as her bachelorette excursion, then Serena and Monsè go at it, Violette is waiting for Jon Luc to propose, Olivia is over there sitting with her nose up at us, Yvonne is just counting down the seconds until she can be Horace and away from us and well Marcie — I think she’s in la la land over there. Just staring off into blank space.”
We get a shot of Marcie just staring out the window as the episode ends.
