[S9E2]: Chateau-No She Didn’t
Episode 2 begins by showing Olivia J. Blake parking her car on the street in Downtown Beverly Beach.
The camera follows her as she walks into a restaurant.
Olivia: “Reservation for 2 under Blake.”
Hostess: “Of course, Mrs. Blake. Follow me right this way.”
The hostess leads Olivia to a table and she sits. A server quickly comes over and introduces himself, pouring two glasses of water.
Olivia: “We’ll also start with two glasses of Veuve. Thanks.” She nods and goes back to looking at the menu.
“Today I am meeting up with a friend of mine, Violette Beauchamp for lunch! Violette has great energy and has been a lot of fun to hangout with and reconnect with since I’ve been back in Beverly Beach. I’m planning at the Beverly Beach Chateau!”
All of sudden we hear the beautiful roar of a Lambo. Outside we see new housewife, Violette Beauchamp, getting out of her car. We hear her car lock as she confidently struts into the restaurant.
As Violette marches up to the host stand; we get a shot of her bubblegum pink Mini Kelly. She raises her hand and does a little wave to the hostess, showing off her nails covered in pearls.
Violette: “Hi honey! I am meeting a friend — Oh! There she is!” She smiles. “Excuse me.” She makes her way over to Olivia’s table. “Hey honey!”
Olivia stands up and gives Violette a hug.
Olivia: “Violette you bitch! I said casual!!” She laughs. “Always so stunning!”
Violette laughs and takes a seat, setting her bag down on the table.
Violette: “Well…you know me. I am always ready to dress, girl.” She smirks.
“My name is Violette Beauchamp.” She smiles. “My family, the Beauchamps, are very well known in Canada and France. My father and grandfather both are very very successful stock brokers and they’re known for being sharks. Sort of like myself.” She laughs.
Violette and Olivia both thank the server as he brings them their classes of champagne.
Violette: “How are you?! How are you settling back into town?” She takes a sip.
Olivia: “It’s been such an easy transition, honestly. Brandon’s company is wrapping up construction and is opening in the next week.”
Violette: “That’s fabulous. I’m so happy you met Brandon. I remember when I first met him when the two of you were still dating… I just had it in my head that you two were going to get married.” She smiles.
We get a shot of Olivia smiling at Violette.
“Funny enough, Violette and I actually met through our men. About 5 years ago, Brandon and Jean-Luc played together in a golf tournament down at the Beverly Beach Country Club while Brandon and I were dating. They ended up finishing first and second and developed a friendly rivalry and have been friends since.” She laughs. “Brandon forced me to go on a double date with Jean Luc and his girlfriend; At first I wrote her off as just some young hot thing, but she’s a very intelligent woman. I was pleasantly surprised how well I meshed with Violette!”
Olivia: “How are things with you and Jean-Luc?”
Violette sets down her glass and clears her throat.
Violette: “Well…things are going good. Jean-Luc is off somewhere in the Middle East or some shit, I don’t know.” She laughs and moves her hand flippantly. “While I am busy being the doting fiancée… well I am trying to be.”
“I am engaged to my wonderful man, Jean-Luc. He’s an entrepreneur who is behind a lot of AI softwares that a lot of major companies are transitioning too. He and I are both very driven and passionate about our careers. I’m an attorney, he’s an entrepreneur. We definitely butt heads a lot…” She laughs. “I’m not a homemaker. I am a boss. I work.” She rolls her eyes.
Olivia: “Have you two set a date yet?!”
Violette blushes and shakes her head at Olivia.
Violette: “No! That man can’t sit his ass down long enough to talk with me on a date!”
Violette: “I’m wanting a nice spring wedding! It doesn’t look like it will happen though.” She shrugs. “Spring is already here and I can’t plan a wedding that fast!”
Olivia leans in with a smile.
Olivia: “Brandon said they were already chatting about strip clubs in Las Vegas for Jean-Luc’s bachelor party so tell him to get his priorities straight!” She laughs. “Men!”
Violette: “Oh, I’m sure of it!” She shakes her head.
“I do love my fiancé. He’s really the best thing that could’ve happened to me. Although… I’m not signing up to be with an absentee husband. I definitely think these are issues we’ll have to address before we tie the knot.”
The ‘Wives thank the waiter as he brings out their salads. Violette takes a bite and then looks up at Olivia.
Violette: “I’m curious — How long was it from when you and Brandon were engaged until your wedding, girl?”
Olivia finishes chewing while she thinks.
Olivia: “Honestly, fairly quickly. Less than a year, but it was both of our second marriages and we were excited to find love again.” She smiles and tucks a piece of hair behind her ear.
Violette: “Oh wow…” She shifts uncomfortably. “That is actually very quick. Jean-Luc and I have been engaged for… I’m embarrassed to even say it out loud… 3 years.”
Olivia: “Oh gosh, it’s already been three years?” She looks at Violette sympathetically. “I know it’s been a while but you are both so busy…”
“Brandon and I knew…we just knew. As soon as he won over Raul and Luis I was ready for that ring!” She laughs. “I do worry for Violette, her body language is telling me something is a miss here. I hope she isn’t having second thoughts.”
Violette: “I just really thought we would be married by now.” She sighs. “I am not getting any younger!” She forces a laugh.
Olivia: “Babe, honestly, don’t get discouraged. Your love story is your own. It’s all part of a bigger plan and your big day will be so special, I just know it.
Violette touches her chest.
Violette: “Aw, you’re so sweet, babe. I just have to trust that it’ll all work itself out. I am ready to be a bride.” She smiles. “Ah, but enough about me! I’ll get an even bigger head.” She giggles and winks.
Olivia: “Well girl, I want to invite you to a dinner I am planning with a group of my girlfriends. I’m hosting it at the Beverly Beach Chateau on Wednesday night!”
Violette widens her eyes and nods.
Violette: “Ooooh! I’m in!”
“I’ve been in Beverly Beach for a few years now, but I’m always traveling and always out of town, I’ve never really settled in and felt like I live here. We have several homes all over and I’m hardly in my home here until recently, once I brought my law office here. So I am excited to meet the IT girls of the city. We’ll see what happens…”
Violette: “I finally going to get to meet the exclusive group of girls you hang around? I am so down!”
Olivia: “Exclusive?” She laughs. “Stop it! You’ll fit right in, I have no worries.”
Violette: “Girl, I hope so!”
The scene fades as the Olivia and Violette go back to eating lunch an catching up.
The camera pans over a backyard area where laughter and banter can be heard.
Yvonne: “Get off my baby, he will be here soon! He’s very busy.”
Cousin Patrice: “Is that Alonzo because Ace is right here!”
We see Yvonne sitting around the table with Horace, Asha, and members of their extended family eating ribs.
“Today, my family and I are meeting at my cousins’ home and unbeknownst to them, we are officially inviting them to a wedding and not just any wedding- Horace and I’s second wedding.”
Cousin Marshall: “So Vonnie, why’d you ask me to offer up my house?”
Yvonne: “Well.” She grabs Horace’s hand. “As you all know we’re rekindling and we’ve decided to get married again!”
Cousin Patrice: “And whose idea was that?” She raises an eyebrow.
Yvonne: “Ace’s, I just said yes!” She laughs.
Horace: “I feel that we’ve been in each other’s lives for so long that it doesn’t make sense for us to just be roommates, we should channel our love appropriately and get remarried.”
Asha and some of Yvonne’s cousins nod along.
Yvonne: “And of course, we want to you all there. You all are obviously my family and Horace values his relationships with all of you too. For the laides, my bridal celebration is coming up in a little less than two weeks, I’d love for all of the cousins to be in attendance!”
Asha [Yvonne’s Daughter]: “I’m happy you two are getting back together, you seem so happy.”
Yvonne: “Thank you baby. Anyone else have anything to share? Auntie Cass?”
We see Aunt Cassandra sit at the head of the table and look between Yvonne and Horace.
Aunt Cassandra: “I don’t want to see you two end up where you were when you split up last time. You are 10 years older now, so hopefully you’ve both matured and can build something great for your final years on Earth.”
Yvonne: “Well, wait a minute!” She laughs. “I’m in my golden years!”
Aunt Cassandra: “Is that what the magazines call them now?”
Everyone at the table laughs.
Yvonne: “What will we do with you, Auntie?”
Aunt Cass: “Nothing, I’m too old to change.” She waves her hand.
Yvonne: “And on that note, what’s for desert?”
Cousin Marshall: “I’ll go get the pies Ma made!” He jumps and and goes inside of the house.
“I’m looking forward to sharing my special day with family, friends, and other loved ones. Horace and I aren’t perfect but we’re worth giving each other another shot at love. Despite what some may say, I’m not looking to date around in my 50s, sorry. I hope everyone can find someone they truly love.”
The scene ends with everyone getting together for a family photo.
The next scene opens with shots of Beverly Beach. The camera follows a car driving through the gates of the exclusive cliff-top neighborhood of Beverly Bluffs.
We see Valentina in the back of an SUV being driven by a driver.
Valentina: “I think this is her house right here!” She points to an upcoming mansion. “At least the GPS says we’re here!” She laughs. “I’ll text her we’re at the gate.”
Valentina texts on her phone and moments later the driveway gate opens and the SUV proceeds in slowly, driving up to the impressive house.
“Look I didn’t realize that Beverly Beach was such a small town that Serena and I both have a really close mutual friend named Millie. So when I saw Serena was on the group text for Millie’s birthday, I thought I’d extend the olive branch and see if she wanted to ride together to the party. Maybe actually being away from the other ladies will give us a better chance to connect and bond as friends.”
We see Serena walk out of her house and open the door to the car.
Serena: “Well yessss, darling!” She laughs.
Valentina: “Hey girl!” She smiles. “Get in, we’re running a little behind!”
“To be walking out of my home to get on the car with Val is beyond my wildest imagination.” She laughs. “We agreed to have a clean slate the other night at Marcie’s event, so I thought I might as well take her up on her invitation for a ride. Maybe this is the start of something new!”
The car drives off once Serena gets in.
Serena: “Whew!” She looks over at Valentina. “So how are you?”
Valentina: “I’m good, just been busy at the studio until I had to get ready for this party! Your house is beautiful.” She smiles.
Serena: “Aww thank you! I love to hear that…”
An awkward silence falls on the girls. Valentina crosses her legs and looks around the backseat while Serena resorts to looking out the window.
“Awkward! I’m starting to wonder, did I make the right choice?”
Valentina clears her throat and looks over at Serena as the car drives out of the Beverly Bluffs community.
Valentina: “So I just wanted to make sure we are good Serena, how do you feel after our conversation at Marcie’s event?”
Serena: “I truly believe we are good. Now I’m going to be honest, it’s going to take some time, but I think we can definitely build a friendship.” She nods. “I genuinely think you are fun lady!”
Valentina: “I definitely don’t think we are going to be best friends tomorrow but I just want to make sure we are both in agreement we want to work on us.” She motions between them. “I think we both can have lots of fun together!”
Serena: “Absolutely! Just like tonight. I want to have fun, dance and drink some good cocktails. Especially since we have a designated driver.” She laughs and high-fives Valentina.
Valentina: “I know that’s right!” She chuckles. “We are going to have a good time this evening especially for our girl Millie! Oh look, I think we have arrived at the botanical gardens!”
Serena: “Okay, I’m ready to party!”
The camera pans over the Beverly Beach botanical gardens. The camera pans to Serena and Valentina who walk into the private birthday party together that is being held in the gardens.
We see a bar and a dance floor. There is a montage of Serena and Valentina greeting friends, getting drinks, and dancing on the dance floor. The camera follows Valentina as she tugs Serena off the dance floor.
Valentina: “Serena, I need a break from the dance floor let’s have a seat over here!”
The women make their way over to a secluded seating area away from the dance floor.
Serena: “This is so pretty…and so much fun!” She looks around.
Valentina: “I am having the best time with you! It makes me forget what all I have going on at home…” She laughs nervously and sips her drink.
Serena: “I’m glad I could be of help! What has been going on with you?” She looks at Valentina.
Valentina: “God it’s just been Brandon…” Her speech is slightly slurred. “He refuses to be around any of the ladies after how last season went.”
Serena’s eyes widen as she takes a sip of her mojito.
Valentina: “It’s caused us to have a strain in our relationship because I’m trying to forge new friendships with some of you girls and I just don’t have a husband who’s onboard.”
Serena: “Oh wow…”
Valentina downs her drink and let’s out a big sigh as she continues ranting.
Valentina: “He also has repeatedly asked me not to come back to this group so that’s also been a problem especially with me trying to get from out of my husbands shadows.”
Serena makes a face.
Serena: “Yikes… I don’t know what to really say.. I am genuinely sorry to hear that. If it makes anything better, at least we are not at odds anymore.” She smiles a bit. “I apologize for my part in this situation. I wish we would have had a conversation ages ago.”
“Valentina has definitely had a few cocktails to drink and now she’s really opening up about her home life. I’m not sure why she chose me because we are just starting anew, but I feel for her and I’m going to listen. These issues with Brandon are clearly really weighing on her mind so I am going to support how I can as a new friend.”
Serena: “I do hope things get better with you and Brandon.”
Valentina: “Thank you, Serena. I appreciate that…I really, really, do.” She touches her heart. “It’s just been hard being in a marriage where he wants all the control. He keeps asking me to pull the plug on my dance studio and just be a full time stay at home wife but I want something of my own. Like my own legacy, ya know Serena?”
Serena: “First off, I’m so proud of you. I understand what you mean. I literally built my salon off of the ground. Blood, sweat and tears. You are going to make it.” She reaches over and squeezes Valentina’s hand. “You are going to be just fine! I’m here to support you and cheer you on. Do what you feel is best for you and your life.”
Valentina: “Thank you I’m gonna get off my soap box because Brandon doesn’t even pay a dime towards my dance studio….” She rolls her eyes. “He makes me use the money that I get from the show to pay for everything. Anyways! Should we go get another drink?” She holds up her empty glass.
Serena: “Oh yes! Let’s!
As we see Serena and Valentina get up, we see Valentina stumble a bit. Serena catches her.
Serena: “Be careful, girl! Maybe a water instead?” She chuckles.
“Listen — Nobody really know but my life is in shambles right now and I’m worried it isn’t going to get any better.”
The scene ends as we get a wide shot of the party.
The camera pans over Blueprint Intellectual Property Firm. Inside, Violette sits at her desk and reviews a case.
“At the end of the day… I am a lawyer first. I absolutely LOVE my job! I didn’t spend all those years in law school and getting my degrees for nothing.”
Violette looks over as her phone rings. She puts her papers down and picks up the phone to answer her fiancè.
Jean-Luc: “Hey babe. What are you doing?’
Violette: “I’m at the office. What else would I be doing sweetie?”
Jean-Luc: “You work a lot.”
Violette: “Same could be said about you…” She rolls her eyes and turns around, logging onto her computer monitor. “What do you need, Jean-Luc?” She types away.
Jean-Luc: “I just wanted to let you know that I won’t be home tomorrow…”
The camera catches Violette rolling her eyes once again.
Violette: “Shocker.”
Jean-Luc: “Hey, you know it’s work. I thought my project here in Beijing would be done today and I’d hop on a flight in the morning, but it’s looking like I’ll be here for a few more days.”
Violette stops typing on her computer and looks down at her phone aggravated.
Violette: “You know Jean-Luc, you sure do work alot.”
Jean-Luc: “Funny.”
Violette: “And I’m assuming once you’re done in Beijing, you’ll be going somewhere else to ‘provide insight’ on your program. Where to this time?”
Jean-Luc: “Don’t be crass, Vi. You know I work hard.”
Violette: “As do I.”
Jean-Luc: “I understand, but I built this company from the ground up. I didn’t have the funds to just magically make this happen. Some of us didn’t grow up with a silver spoon in our mouths. I work hard so my children can have that life of luxury like you did.”
Violette scoffs, looking offended.
Violette: “Are you being serious right now? Really? Really? That was not nice to say. Goodbye, Jean Luc.”
Jean-Luc: “Vi — “
Violette hangs up the phone promptly and goes back to typing on her computer.
“I love my fiancé. I really truly do! But, it sometimes does get really fucking draining to deal with him. He needs to learn to accept that I am not this ‘princess’ he claims me to be. Yes, I grew up wealthy. Yes, I have parents who never let me go without. Yes, they helped me with renting the building for my firm. But, I also have worked extremely hard to become who I am today. My parents didn’t BUY me into University nor law school. I did that. Me! I feel like sometimes, he treats me like I’m less than him. Like he feels inferior to me.”
As Violette works, her assistant Carley knocks on her office door and enters.
Carley: “Violette, your 3PM is here.”
Violette nods and stands up as a man enters the room and Carley walks off. Violette gives her client a handshake.
Violette: “It’s nice to meet you, Mr. Davis.”
Mark: “ It’s nice to meet you as well. I’ve heard great things about you.” He smiles and sits.
Violette: “Well, thank you. I’d like to think my reputation is nicely rounded.” She smiles. “So, I know we’ve talked on the phone for a bit but I want to hear the full story in your words. What’s going on?” She pulls out a pen and pink notepad.
Mark: “Me and a buddy of mine were going to go into business together. We both own several companies of our own, I’m in real estate investing and he’s in bitcoin trading. I was the one who pitched this idea to him about starting a new hotel chain. I pitched the ideas, the visions, the name, everything…”
Violette: “Mhmmm.” She writes something down and nods along. “Okay, and? What happened?”
Mark: “What happened is that he completely ripped me off. He double crossed me. He slowly began to blow me off, he stopped talking to me.” He shakes his head. “I assumed the deal was a no go and I was going to move on and figure something else out. Lo and behold… I find out that my buddy had taken all of what I discussed with him and started the process.”
Violette: “Mmmm.” She writes something else down.
Mark: “I mean, everything! It was my idea. He’s pawning it off as his and he’s gotten a patent on it and everything. There has to be something that can be done? It just feels really freaking illegal!”
Violette sighs and sets her notepad down.
Violette: “Okay.” She clears her throat. “So, we see this happen alot here. I definitely think from what you tell me, you have a good case on your hands. If I were to take you on as a client.”
Mark smiles a bit.
Violette: “I’d recommend you file a counter patent and bring proof with you. You do have proof right? Like blueprints of your building designs, sketches, documents, something that proves that it was your idea to begin with?”
Mark: “Yes. I have all of that. I only showed him, he didn’t have access to any of those things.” He shakes his head.
Violette: “ Great. Well, what I’d like to do is once you get that counter patent filed, I’d like to send out a cease and desist immediately. What that would do is force your friend to stop everything he is doing immediately. It would consist of a letter that would lay out certain demands and make it clear that if they are not met you may sue the infringing party.”
Mark: “Okay. I’m liking what I’m hearing.”
Violette: “Yeah, there’s quite a lot we can do in a defense strategy for an IP suit. Usually, we don’t have to go to court as the cease and desist with the demands are usually met. I would say in this instance I don’t foresee your friend wanting to go to court over this. But… we shall see. Huh?”
Mark: “Yeah… I wouldn’t want to take him to court, but he’s been fucking me over and not taking my calls. I hate to get legal with it, but… I’m not going to sit back and allow him to steal my work and ideas and get paid for it. It’s not right.”
Violette: “Not right at all.” She shakes her head. “Well, I’ve got you and we’ll work up a strategy. That sound good?”
Mark: “Sounds great. Thank you so much.”
Violette: “You’re welcome.”
We see Violette and Mark both getting up from their seats.
“Usually with my clients, I tend to take a more direct approach. I want to know what the issue is, I’ll tell you what I think the best point to take and then — Boom! I don’t like going to court. It’s pointless to me. Why leave something in the hands of the judge when I can control it myself and make everyone settle? everyone wins and everyone is happy.” She laughs. “I am too pretty to stand in court all day in my Giuseppe’s!”
The scene ends with Violette shaking Mark’s hand and walking him out of her office.
We see shots of beautiful Beverly Beach in spring. The camera pans over a coffee shop.
Outside on the patio, Yvonne sits and sips on a latte.
“Today, I’ve invited Marcie out for coffee. I am feeling…betrayed by Marcie and I’m holding a lot of anger because I feel she let this group turn her against me. This talk is for clearing the air and hopefully getting to an understanding.”
The music picks back up as we see Marcie walk into the coffee shop and out to the patio.
“I’m hurt by Yvonne. She thinks I’m some malicious person who doesn’t like her. I don’t know why explaining my feelings is an attack thing to her but here we are.”
Marcie walks over to Yvonne’s table and takes a seat.
Marcie: “Hey. How are are you?”
Yvonne: “Hi, I’m good. This look is quite scandalous — I didn’t know you had it in you.”
Marcie: “I’m just trying new things you know! New year, new Marcie!” She shrugs.
“Maybe Marcie thinks the way back into my heart is through her jesus jugs- unfortunately, I’m not looking for tits, I’m looking for truth.”
Yvonne: “I ordered us both lattes.” She nods her head at the second cup in front of Marcie.
Marcie: “Perfect. Thank you.” She takes a sip.
Yvonne: “So. Shall we get into it?” She looks to Marcie.
Marcie nods and sets down her coffee.
Marcie: “I don’t want you to feel like I don’t like or care for you let’s start there… but last year you let me have it.”
“Yvonne forgets every chance she had the opportunity to speak up and stop the women for coming at me or just step in and help her friend out she didn’t.”
Yvonne: “You wanted me to speak up for you more than you spoke up for yourself. I feel at our age, that’s a bit childish don’t you think?”
Marcie: “I’m not a confrontational person, Yvonne!” She motions to herself. “I didn’t know what I was getting myself into I thought it was more of a chance to advertise Beverly Blowout!” She snorts and looks around. “All I wanted was some support and defense because I wasn’t sure what I was doing.”
Yvonne: “So instead of vocalizing that to me all year long, you decided to get around these girls and call me out as a bad friend?” She cocks her head.
Yvonne: “How was that helping your cause?”
Marcie: “I knew that was the time for us to really hash things out and resolve things. If I knew we wouldn’t talk as much or our friendship would have changed how it has I wouldn’t have done it that way but now we are here.”
Yvonne: “Let’s be clear though, I’ve come to support your events and tried to call you after you made that statement; but you’ve not returned any calls or come to support my businesses.”
Marcie: “I’ve had a lot going on I’m sorry I can’t help my personal life — “
Yvonne cuts Marcie off and keeps talking.
Yvonne: “The bottom line is, you calling me a bad friend was merely projection. Either you don’t want to be my friend or there’s something I’m missing- but it needs to be put on the table now and not later amongst the group.”
Marcie: “I don’t think you’re taking accountability for how you left me out to dry last year. I can own I’ve been detached but you also haven’t fully apologized.”
Yvonne: “I’m sorry that you felt unprotected and unsupported by me. We’ve known each other too long and have lived too full of a life to let the pettiness of this group drive a wedge between us. I hope you agree.”
“Even though I’d rather stroke my ego, spill coffee on Marcie, and walk out of here knowing I have more money than she does, I do feel bad that she’s felt alone in this experience. So for that, I will apologize.”
Marcie: “I agree and thank you for apologizing I appreciate it sincerely I’m just trying to…” She begins tearing up and her voice gets shaky. “I don’t think Jon and I are going to make it…”
Yvonne: “What’s going on? Where is this coming from?” She takes a Kleenex out of her purse and hands it to Marcie.
Marcie takes the Kleenex and dabs her eyes,
Marcie: “He just.. I don’t think he’s in love anymore.. and I know I don’t feel… the feeling much.”
“I can’t.. I don’t wanna discuss it yet I’m not ready.”
After siping her latter, Yvonne frowns and looks at Marcie with concern.
Yvonne: “I’m sorry you’re going through that. Do you think it’s time for a divorce?”
Marcie: “No! Gosh no! I can’t do that yet.. I still. I still do love him…” She frowns. “I don’t know. Sorry…” She blows her nose and sniffles.
Yvonne: “Well we don’t have to talk about it now but we can’t avoid it forever…”
Marcie: “Yeah, I know…” She sits back and sighs. “I know.”
The camera zoom out on Yvonne and Marcie, giving us a wide shot of them at the table before the scene ends.
The scene opens up with shots of the impressive Beverly Beach Chateau.
Outback, there is a set up with a large table for dinner. Olivia walks with her party planner as they lay name cards down at each place setting.
Olivia: “Thank you so much for putting this all together, Stanisha!”
Stanisha: “Oh absolutely Mrs. Blake.”
“Tonight is our fabulous dinner at the Beverly Beach Chateau. I am so excited to invite the ladies out for a nice dinner and introduce them to my friend Violette.”
Violette is the first Housewife to arrive.
She is lead through the interior of the Chateau by a staff member and brought out to the huge patio where Olivia is.
Violette: “Olivia! Honey… this is stunning! The visuals are here, babe.” She laughs and gives her a hug. “Thank you for having me!”
Olivia: “Of course, V! Oh, you are looking just divine as always! A true angel.” She smiles.
“I am a bit nervous meeting all of the girls. Girls usually either tend to like me or they tend to hate me. There’s no in between. I guess we will see.” She grins.
Outfront, Valentina Armani is seeing getting out of the back of a car.
Valentina: “Okay Mario I’ll call you when I’m ready to go. I plan on letting loose tonight and having some fun.”
Valentina closes the door and swalks up to the front of the Chateau where she is greeted with a glass of champagne by a staff member, they lead her to the back where Olivia and Violette are chatting.
Valentina: “This is fabulous, Olivia!” She looks around in awe. “Oh, I brought you a bottle of Dom Perignon 2008.” She hands it over.
Olivia: “Oh my goodness, one Barbie wasn’t enough we have two! Thank you my, love!” She hugs Valentina and then steps aside. “Val, this is my friend Violette!”
Violette: “Hi! It’s so nice to meet you.” She extends her hand to Valentina. “Hi! It’s so nice to meet you.”
Valentina: “It’s such a pleasure to meet you! You’re absolutely stunning! Who’s your plastic surgeon?” She laughs.
Violette: “Oh, thank you.” She raises and eyebrow at Valentina.
“Was that shade?” She laughs a bit. “I think so. Well, then!”
We see a shot of Horace driving Yvonne up to the front of the Chateau in their Maserati.
Yvonne: “Wow, Horace, how long has it been since we’ve been here?”
Horace: “10 years, I believe- since my retirement party.”
Yvonne: “Goodness. You’re so old.” She leans over and gives him a kiss on the cheek. “Okay, I’ll see you in about 2 hours or so, honey. Be safe.”
Horace: “I should say that to you…” He laughs.
The scene switches to catch Yvonne entering the back patio where the other ‘Wives are.
Yvonne: “Hello! Hello!”
Valentina: “Hi, Yvonne.” She sips her champagne.
Olivia: “Yvonne, I seldomly see you in white. You look gorgeous, my love.” She hugs Yvonne.
Yvonne: “This may not be the last time, love. It doesn’t hurt to get some practice in.” She winks.
“With my upcoming nuptials to Horace, I should get some practice in how white looks on me. I look good in it.”
Yvonne: “You must be Violette.” She smiles at her. “ I love your outfit, I think I’ve seen it on the runway. Is it original Olivia Blake?”
Violette: “It is actually! Good eye! Olivia didn’t give me the friends and family discount though when I purchased it.” She shakes her head and laughs.
Monsè is the next one to be lead to the backyard by the staff, she walks out with a glass of the welcome champagne.
Monsè: “Hello! Olivia, thanks for the invite, doll. This venue is gorgeous!” She gives her air kisses.
Olivia: “Monsè, welcome!” She air kisses her and then gives her a hug.
After Monsè greets Yvonne and Valentina, Olivia leads her over to Violette.
Olivia: “Meet my friend Violette Beauchamp!”
Monsè: “Hi Violette. Girl, you look expensive! I like you already!” She gives her a hug.
Violette: “Oh! Thank you. You’re sweet.”
Serena walks in next, carrying her dress train.
Serena: “Oh, this is beautiful.”
Olivia: “Oh my goodness — this dress is gorgeous!” She hugs Serena but then accidentally steps on her dress train. “Oops, I’m sorry, girl!”
“Serena is gorgeous but a bit overdressed, no? A dress with a train for a dinner with your girlfriends? Well alright.”
We get a shot of the women chatting and Serena introducing herself to Violette. The camera pans to show Marcie walking over to the women.
Marcie: “Hi!”
Valentina: “Well if there isn’t Marcie Maples!”
Marcie: “Hi Val!” She hugs her. ‘
“I feel bad about how I had to step away from my Hairdos and Healing party. So tonight, I just have to show the girls I’m still a fun person to hangout with! Especially Olivia because — Hello! Look around!”
Olivia: “Marcie, welcome! I haven’t seen you since you disappeared at your own party baby. I hope you’re feeling better.” She walks over and gives her a hug.
Marcie: “Olivia! This is beautiful!”
Valentina: “Do we have assigned seating?” She looks to Olivia.
Olivia: “Oh, my love…Of course we do.” She laughs.
Monsè: “Do you know who’s dinner we’re at, girl?” She laughs as well.
Valentina: “Well there’s been some parties in this group we didn’t. So I’m glad you’re on the same caliber as me!”
The ‘Wives all walk around to find where they are sat. Olivia sits down at the head of the table. One one side it is Marcie, Monsè, and Yvonne. On the other side Serena, Valentina, and Violette sit next to one another.
Serena: “Come on Val! This is good seating.” She sits next to Valentina.
Valentina: “Girl, Olivia knew we were going to have some fun next each other!” She giggles and slides Serena her extra shot.
We get a shot of Yvonne raising her eyebrow as Monsè come to sit next to her.
“Seating me next to Monsè? That Olivia J. Blake is still just as messy as always!”
Monsè: “Oh, look! Aren’t you glad we’re sitting together Yvonne?”
Yvonne nods and then turns away, sipping from her glass of red wine.
“Look, I know I’ve tried many times to turn over a new leaf with Ms. Langley, but this time I’m sticking to it even if it kills me… or if she does!”
Servers come out and begin refilling some of the ladies wine glasses. The bartender makes cocktails for the others.
Violette: “This table setting is really fabulous!” She smiles at Olivia.
Olivia: “Thank you, Violette. I’ll be sure to tell the employee who put this all together.” She laughs and looks around the table. “Ladies, please get to know Violette. She is amazing.”
Valentina: “So Violette, how do you know Olivia?” She finishes her glass of wine and then motions to the server for a refill.
Violette: “Well… Liv and I actually met through our men. The two of them are country clubbers and the rest was history. I knew I’d like Olivia the moment I met her!” She laughs.
Olivia: “The feeling was definitely mutual, my love.” She smiles.
Monsè: “Violette, what do you do for a living? Must be something fabulous if you’re friends with Olivia.”
Violette: “I’m an attorney, actually, Monsè! I practice intellectual property law. But I also have some hand in criminal law as well.”
Valentina: “Oh that’s nice. Definitely interesting that you are a lawyer!”
Violette: “I know I must not look like it. I don’t fit the typical ‘attorney mold’.” She nods.
Monsè: “That’s impressive! We could use some more ladies with brains in this group.” She giggles and sips her champagne.
Valentina: “Did Olivia give you any tips before joining this group and what it would be like?”
Marcie: “Probably told her to study her argumentative skills!” She laughs.
Violette: “No. Olivia’s told me nothing but nice things about most of you!”
Serena: “Violette, are you married?”
Violette: “I’m engaged.” She looks at Serena. “My fiancé’s name is Jean-Luc. He’s an entrepreneur. He develops AI software for companies. A lot of the AI products you see these days? My man did that!” She snaps.
Marcie: “AI software? Isn’t that where the computers like talk to you?”
Valentina: “Love all of that! When’s the wedding? How long have you been engaged?!”
Violette hesitates a bit.
Violette: “ No date for the wedding yet. We’ve actually been engaged for about 3 years now.” She takes a sip of her drink.
Yvonne: “3 years?!” Her jaw drops. “What are you waiting for? The second coming of Christ?”
Olivia: “Yvonne…” She shoots her a look.
Serena: “That is a very long time…” She finishes her drink.
Monsè: “You’re ironing out the details of the prenup huh? Smart girl.” She winks at Violette.
Valentina: “Nothing wrong with taking your time in the engagement! The older generation don’t get waiting.”
Olivia: “Yes, plus Jean-Luc is really amazing and they are a perfect match!”
“These ladies are grilling Violette. I know I told them to get to know her, but they are diving deep.”
Serena: “I guess as long as y’all are happy. You seem very vibrant and healthy!”
Violette nods and blushes.
Violette: “I know! It’s been a long time. He works a lot and is literally always traveling. He’s currently on a business trip now. We don’t see each other but a few times a month. But… we make it work.”
Yvonne makes a face discreetly. Serena’s eyes widen and she sips on her drink. We see Monsé narrow her eyes but remain quiet.
“Make it work? You two have side pieces or something? I don’t know any man that’s only getting it in a few times a month and staying faithful. I’m just saying!”
“If they only see one another a few times a month then me and Jon are doing even better than them… and we’re about to file.”
“I think them two have some sort of an arrangment and they have no intentions of getting married, or at least that’s what I’ve heard about Violette from a mutual friend of ours.”
“I promised myself that I’d be nicer to the ladies entering the circle from now on, but this one seems a bit…naive. You’re marrying someone you only see on the first and last day of the month? I don’t know if she’s had a three year engagement or he’s been stalling hoping she falls out of love.”
“Goddamn! These girls are ruthless. I am being grilled hard right now!” She laughs. “The way I feel right now… you’d think they were the attorneys and I was the defendant. Yikes.”
The camera focuses on the bartender who brings Serena and Valentina over a second round of shots. Valentina grabs his arm before he walks off.
Valentina: “I’ll do a spicy margarita when you get a chance. Thanks.”
Bartender: “No problem.” He walks away.
The camera briefly pans to Valentina pouring herself more wine as she waits for her margarita. The camera now pans to Serena who whips her mouth after taking her shot.
Serena: “In other news, it’s nice to see Monsé and Yvonne next to each other.” She smiles at them.
Yvonne: “Well, you can thank Olivia for that!”
“Yvonne and Monsé were my first friends in this group last year. To see them go through this little rough patch is difficult for me. They’re sitting next to each other. A good sign? Maybe?”
Monsè: “Look at us two getting along for once. Hell must have frozen over.” She laughs.
We get a shot of Violette listening in, confused at the dynamic.
Monsè: “Tell us, what’s new with you Miss Yvonne?”
Yvonne: “Well, other than this…” She holds up her ring finger and smiles.
Olivia: “Wait, you’re engaged too?!” She gasps.
Yvonne: “Yes.” She nods. “I’m actually planning a wedding — sorry to upstage you Violette but I can’t wait 3 years!”
Serena: “Come on ring!” She claps and smiles.
Olivia: “Oh my goodness! Congratulations friend!”
Yvonne: “Thank you, thank you.”
Monsè: “Oh? Congratulations! And who bought that big ol’ thing?”
Valentina: “I was wondering the same things Monsè!” She nods eagerly.
Serena: “Her fiancé, Horace, chile.”
Monsè’s jaw now drops.
Monsè: “Wait Horace who?! Not the OG?!”
Yvonne shoots a look at Serena.
Yvonne: “ Oh you just couldn’t let me say my old man’s name, could you?”
Serena: “I’m sorry! This tequila is working overtime friend. I’m happy for you!” She makes a face then laughs.
“Am I surprised she’s remarrying Horace after all these years? No. She’s lived with him the majority of the time so why not combine incomes late in life?”
Monsè: “Wait, wait, wait a second!” She holds her hands up and looks confused. “When did this happen?” She looks to Yvonne. “Weren’t you just dating Lorelei’s old man?
Monsè: I can’t keep up with your fast ways.” She snorts.
Violette: “Oh! Jesus.” She chokes at Monsè’s comment.
Yvonne: “Excuse you?” She turns to Monsè.
Marcie: “Let’s just be supportive tonight I think it’s sweet she found love…” She looks at Monsè.
“I get holding grudges but come on Monsè let’s not go there tonight…”
Olivia: “Oh Monsè, let’s leave Lorelei and her father in law in the past.” She shakes her head.
Monsè: “I’m just curious!” She shrugs and sips her champagne.
Yvonne: “Well, I suppose you don’t want an invite to the wedding…”
Monsè: “To me, It seems a little odd that you’re jumping from relationship to relationship. I feel like I’m on Punk’d or something. Ashton, you can come out now!”
Yvonne: “I’d rather jump from relationship to relationship, living life on my terms than rental to rental, living a life trying to hide from Uncle Sam’s terms.” She smiles.
Marcie chokes a bit on her pasta.
Violette: “Shit!” She looks at Yvonne in shock, giggling a bit.
Monsè: “Honey, I own my home AND I pay my taxes. Many women in this town can’t say the same.”
“We were all getting along one minute and the next thing I know… Yvonne and Monsè are duking it out. I am so confused. Why do they not like eachother?”
Olivia: “Come on. Monsè. Horace is Yvonne’s true love. Don’t you believe in love? They have children — well grown children and grandchildren too but, yes true love!”
Monsè: “Of course, I believe in true love, look at me and my husband! If it’s real, I totally support you two.”
“Yvonne changes men like she changes out her handbags. Is it wrong if I have questions when a massive ring pops up on her finger all of a sudden?”
Marcie: “It’s real, it’s real.”
Violette: “So… excuse me if I’m being nosy. But… what happened with the two of you?” She looks at Monsè and Yvonne.
Yvonne: “Nothing really, Violette. She’s acting out like an abandoned child because her friends have all neglected her within this group…” She shrugs at Violette. “But if Olivia didn’t warn you, let me warn you. She’s faker than a three dollar bill.”
Violette: “Oh…”
Valentina: “Should we raise our glass to a fourth times a charmmm?!” Her speech is slurred. “Whew, this tequila snuck up on me.”
Yvonne: “How about you raise a glass of water, tipsy girl?”
Marcie is seen shaking her head.
“One thing about Yvonne is when she turns on, everyone is a target. Get out the way or get hit girls!”
Valentina: “Who’s tipsy girl!? I’m Valentina. You’re tipsy girl!
Olivia: “Ladies, I don’t want you all fighting here at the Chateau.” She rolls her eyes.
Yvonne: “I’m sorry, Olivia. I tried to be nice and cordial with these ladies but taking swipes at my authenticity is where I draw the line.”
Monsè: “Oh, come on Yvonne. Don’t do that…” She rolls her eyes. “I support Black love! I’m just asking some clarifying questions that’s all.”
Olivia: “I think you guys need to just dead it now and have a conversation later.” She looks around, a bit uncomfortable.
Serena: “We don’t want to ruin a perfectly good night. I think we just need to calm down and maybe party a little.” She grins.
Monsè: “I couldn’t agree more Serena. Thank you for putting on a beautiful evening, Olivia.”
All of a sudden, Valentina gets up and walks over to the musicians.
Valentina: “Can you guys… Shhhhh!” She puts her finger to her mouth and then stumbles over to the house attendent.
Olivia: “Where is Valentina going?” She looks over her shoulder, concerned.
The scene goes back to Valentina talking to the house attendent.
Valentina: “Can I connect to the patio speaker systeemm-uh? These girls need something to lighten the mood!”
All of a sudden Bongos by Cardi B starts playing. We get shots of the staff looking at one another as Valentina lurches back to the table.
Valentina: “BONGOOOOOSSSS! Let’s get it going ladies!:
Olivia: “What in the world, woman?!” She looks at Valentina in horror. “Turn that off!”
Valentina stumbles and almost falls as she tries to stand on a chair to get up on the table.
Marcie: “I — Oh!”
Valentina finally makes it onto the table, she giggles and pulls Serena up out of her chair and helps her onto the table now as well.
Valentina: “Move the plate ladies. It’s fixing to get real Miami in hereeeeee!” She begins dancing on the table.
Serena: “Come on little booty bounce!” She chuckles and shimmies along side Valentina.
Olivia looks up at them in complete and utter horror.
Olivia: “Get down! Get down! Oh God — How do I turn this music OFF?!” She looks around frantically.
“I look up from getting the two cackling bickering hens to shut up and see two dancers in the wind — I was mortified that it was a drunk Val and Rena.”
Valentina: “Let me show you guys how you do a professional cheerleader move!” She drops and does the splits on the table.
Marcie screams as some plates and silverware fly off.
Valentina: “Seee girls! Let loooooseeee!”
Olivia: “No, no, no!” She looks mortified after Valentina did her trick.
Yvonne: “Her backshots?” She turns away from Serena and Valentina to look at Olivia. confused.
“Is this who we are? Is this what we represent? The Chateau has become the Club! The Founders are rolling in their graves.”
Marcie: “What is happening at the Beverly Beach Chateau!?” She lets out an uncomfortable laugh.
Olivia: “Down! Now!”
Olivia is now grabbing Valentina’s arm and pulling her down from the table.
Valentina: “Whyyyyy?! We jus wanna danceee!”
“Hell no! I don’t. What did I do? Is Brandon going to be mad?” She laughs a bit.
Olivia: “This is so unbelievably embarrassing, oh my God — “ She now has Valentina down, Serena gets down on her own. “I’m getting you a car. Right now!” She looks to the staff. “I am so unbelievably sorry!”
Valentina: “But whyyyy?”
Olivia: “You, quiet. Drink this water.” She hands Valentina a cup in which she pours down the front of her dress.
“I will be having a conversation with Val and Rena. I am not sure we will ever be granted access to the Beverly Beach Chateau again after the way these two hussies carried themselves tonight. I am embarrassed. This is unbecoming of classy women in Beverly Beach society. Best believe conversations will be had.”
The scene fades out and the episode ends.
