[S9E13]: Fashion Week Freakout
The episode begins with multiple shots of Paris in the morning.
We see the Eiffel Tower, the River Seine, the wonderful cobblestone streets. The scene lands on Violette and Olivia who walk arm in arm.
“It’s a new day in Paris and a big one for me as it’s my fashion show day!!! Vi and I are going out for a quick walk before we have to get to the show and get glammed.”
The ‘Wives are seen walking into a bakery and admiring the sweets.
Violette: “How are you feeling girly? After last night?” She glances over at Olivia.
Olivia: “I’m fine. I’m far too confident a person to be bothered by the things Yvonne Langley said about me, my husband, or my agency at the dinner table.” She shrugs.
We get a shot of Violette nodding along.
“Last night… Yvonne’s behavior was really low. I really want to be friends with her, but… she just strikes me as someone who can’t be trusted. I mean, she tried to turn me against one of my very good friends! She’s really dark.
Violette: “What was all of that about anyways?! It was getting dirty.” She laughs. “You guys really went there!”
Olivia: “I don’t know what her issue is with me. It popped up over night, but she knows I am not afraid of her and will not tolerate her poor behavior.” She shakes her head. “The woman is full of shit. I thought after menopause women calmed down.”
All of the sudden the camera pans out. We are now getting shots of the Eiffel tower.
The camera pans to a cafe on the peremiter of the park underneath. We see Yvonne and Monsè sitting at a small cafe as breakfast is brought out to their table.
Monsè: “Garçon!” She turns to Yvonne. “Now THIS is what Paris is all about. Pretty views and cute cafes.”
Yvonne: “It’s about views and good vibes, not bitches and backstabbing.” She smiles and cuts into her omlette.
Monsè: “I see we’re still thinking about last night’s dinner then…” She giggles.
Yvonne: “I think she really believes in her delusion that I need to prove something to her to be worthy of being in her company.” She rolls her eyes. “Newsflash: I’m the Beverly Beach native, she’s the Beach flip flopper — she only shows up when opportunity comes around!” She sips her mimosa.
Monsè: “Whew not the flip flopper… I know things got super intense last night but do you think you two are gonna be able to put your differences aside at the show tonight? Fashion Week is a huge deal!”
Yvonne: “I have no interest in making a scene and Olivia has a lot to worry about so best of luck! I’m there to mingle and have a little sip.” She snorts.
Monsè: “Oh thank god. It’s better like that anyway, then you can pay more attention when we strut our stuff down the runway!” She shimmies towards Yvonne and laughs.
Yvonne: “Oh, I didn’t realize you’re working. I hope she’s paying you.”
Monsè: “Yes hunni, me and Serena are ready to work! And I am getting paid, Monsè doesn’t work for free, babe!” She gives Yvonne a look.
Yvonne: “Good, you can’t afford to.”
The scene switches back to Violette and Olivia. They are making their way out of the bakery they stopped in, they continue to walk down the street.
Violette: “Speaking of Yvonne… I actually met up with her back home right before we came here.” She looks at Olivia and smirks. “You can imagine how that went.” She takes a bite of her croissant.
Olivia laughs.
Olivia: “I assume she didn’t have the nicest things to say about me?”
Violette: “Well…she basically was insinuating that you knew about the whole Jean Luc flirting with another woman thing from Brandon and you didn’t tell me. Like, you just allowed me to look stupid.” She looks to Olivia. “She was telling me that you weren’t a good friend to me basically.”
The camera pans to Olivia, who looks taken off guard.
Olivia: “ Jean-Luc was flirting with someone else? You haven’t told me about this.”
“I have no idea what Violette is talking about so for Yvonne to act as if I was in the know about this.” She shakes her head. “Not cool.”
Violette looks at Olivia and sighs.
Violette: “I know… this has been a whole ordeal because of Monsè. It’s so stupid. But, yes, long story short… Brandon flirted with Bree Bailey’s drug addicted daughter and we had a sit down with her and he admitted to it. Yvonne was basically saying you were in on it and you just didn’t tell me.” She bites her lip. “I do have to ask just for my sake of asking… you had no idea about any of this… right?”
Olivia: “WHAT?! That’s ludicrous.” Her jaw drops. “I had no earthly idea that Jean-Luc was stepping out on you.”
“Jean-Luc was cheating on Violette with of all people — Bree Bailey’s daughter? Bree — the lady who was fired from this show and her daughter who is an addict? My god…”
Violette: “Well…hold on. Back it up.” She makes a skrttt noise and clicks her heels. “He didn’t step out on me. He only flirted with her and took her number. They both admitted nothing happened and it was just flirting.”
Olivia: “Oh wow, okay. But still…shady boots. Are you staying with him?”
Violette: “We’re going to work things out.”
“I know Olivia must think I am a fool. I would too, to be honest. But… I’m willing to work things out with Jean Luc ONLY because nothing happened. If he slept with her or did anything like that, we would be having a very different conversation. I am a lot of things… a dumb woman is not one of them.”
Olivia: “Those Bailey women are something else…and Jean-Luc…shame on him.”
Violette: “I didn’t like that woman at all or her daughter.” She laughs. “Whatever! I just wanted to tell you what happened because I’m not sure what Yvonne has to gain from all of this. Just watch your back around her, okay Liv? Because, that woman isn’t your friend. She tried to say you weren’t mine, but I feel like she isn’t yours.” She shrugs.
Olivia: “It’s quite disgusting that she’s still up to the same shit she was up to 8 years ago when I was in this circle with her. She is very manipulative and not a true girls girl.” She shakes her head.
Violette: “Screw her. Let’s go get some coffee and talk about the hot Parisian men!” She laughs and hugs Olivia.
The scene fades as the two continue walking the streets of Paris together.
We see shots of the Hermès in Paris. Outfront, a black Rolls Royce pulls up.
Valentina and Marcie are seen exiting.
Valentina: “Marcie let’s shop until we drop! I need a new birkin and Brandon approved!”
Marcie: “I’m so ready to shop Val! I desperately want a new Chanel today though!”
Valentina: “Girl this is Hermès, the original one in Paris! It’s a classic and extremely hard to get a reservation here! We can go to Chanel later, but now it’s about Birkins and shoes!”
“We have some time before the show so Val and I decided to do a little therapy… retail therapy.”
The ‘Wives are seen being escorted in and introduced to a sales associate.
Marcie: “This is so pretty!” She looks around.
As the ‘Wives browse scarves, they chat.
Valentina: “So what did you think of last nights dinner?! It was chaotic to say the least!”
Marcie: “I mean… let’s be so honest that was a lot. It was definitely not what I think anyone was prepared for.” She shakes her head. “Why did you have such a strong reaction to Olivia and Weston’s relationship?” She raises an eyebrow at Valentina. “Yvonne is a bit of a hater but I didn’t know you felt so strongly.”
Valentina: “For me, I just want Olivia to be truthful… Clearly Weston feels a way about her and she is just trying to brush it under the rug to save face. Plus she has taken every opportunity to embarrass me and call my behavior out so why is it a problem when I return the favor…” She glares at Marcie.
Marcie: “I… why are you on defense I didn’t say it was a problem I just didn’t know why you cared so much.” She chuckles and picks up a scarf.
Valentina: “I only care because she was the one to start this problem between us. It all started with the bongos incident, and now it’s festered into more.”
Marcie: “Well anyways, I didn’t expect Yvonne and Olivia to say such things though.”
“Olivia and Yvonne are close friends.. well were close friends.. They need to find a way to communicate healthier though to find a resolution, because where they’ve landed is so not sustainable.”
Valentina: “Yvonne kinda expressed some of it to me when we had lunch at the cafe yesterday, I think she’s tired of Olivia’s holier than thou attitude.”
Marcie shakes her head.
Marcie: “I don’t think she has a holier than thou attitude, maybe that’s just my obliviousness but I think she’s a bit proper and can be stuck up but ultimately she’s a nice person. I just think you guys aren’t seeing eye to eye because you got off on the wrong foot, which is sad because we are a group of friends so I want you both to be able to find the fun with one another.”
Valentina: “How can I have fun when every time I have fun she judges me?” She leans on a counter and looks at Marcie. “I don’t understand what’s not clicking with you Marcie. Are you okay?”
Marcie huffs.
Marcie: “Okay please don’t treat me like that I don’t need to be treated like I’m looney.” She holds a hand up and scoffs. “I’m just simply stating that, yes, Olivia is judgey but I think once you get through the hard exterior you’ll see she’s actual really personable and caring. She actually happens to like you despite your.. tensions. She’s told me that.” She nods.
The camera pans to Valentina who looks confused.
Valentina: “She actually likes me? That’s comical! Her actions say otherwise.” She laughs.
“Look Marcie I know you’re use to Jon selling you dreams but I’m not really buying what you’re selling here. Olivia does not like me and it shows by her actions.”
Valentina: ““I do hope for her sake that her and Yvonne find a way forward.”
Marcie: “We’ll see…” She shrugs.
The women are lead to another room where they begin trying on some shoes.
Marcie: “In other news how was your date night with Brandon? Did it go as well as planned?”
Valentina sighs and begins strapping on a heel.
Valentina: “It went horrible. Probably the worst we’ve been in a long time. We got on the topic of my mother and how he feels with her being in the home and he brought up the D-word.”
Marcie sits up straight and gasps.
Marcie: “Oh my god Valentina! I’m so sorry! Why did it spiral did he just bring up his mom and couldn’t let go or?”
Valentina: “Well I brought up the fact he hasn’t been home in weeks and it wasn’t fair I was stuck here to do it all by myself. I mean my mom helps but when she helps it comes with a cost, so I really try to avoid that as much as possible. So when I asked why he hasn’t been home in weeks he alluded it had something to do with my mom being in the house.” She takes a sip of water.
Marcie: “Has he ever made the notion he doesn’t like your mom to the extent where it would cause him to avoid her THAT much?”
Valentina: “Not to this extent, no. I didn’t think when she came back to visit it would turn into my marriage falling to shambles. I mean what would you do if you were in my position?”
Marcie: “I mean Valentina.. do Jon and I seem like we’re in the position where I have good marital advice? I just say communication because as you know Jon avoids that and clearly we have problems so maybe that’s the root!” She slips on a shoe.
“Me asking Marcie for marriage advice is like the blind leading the blind. I don’t know who’s in a more troubled situation, me or Marcie?”
“Jon and I are.. looking at the potential for our next chapter.. possibly apart. Counseling has shown me this is not someone in a position to continue the relationship in the way that it is now.”
Valentina puts down a pair of shoes and sighs as she looks over to Marcie.
Valentina: “So, I was actually going to ask about you and Jon. I wanted to ask you how things were going. My good friend Lisa drove by your salon yesterday and she said the salon was closed. I thought you had a difficult client and that’s why you couldn’t come with us? Did Jon try and hold you back from coming?” She looks concerned.
Marcie looks taken aback.
Marcie: “I.. well..” She stutters. “I was looking at houses.. for myself.. I didn’t want to say anything because I knew it’d lead to discussion but.. I don’t see Jon and I staying together right now. Maybe in the future but now.”
Valentina: “So you are leaving him? Are you still going to stay married? I mean as much as I hate this for you Marcie you need to be released from Jon’s manipulation.” She grabs Marcie’s hand.
Marcie: “Well Valentina I want Mikey to also be happy and I have to consider his feelings with everything. He wants us together.. I have to look at every option as it comes to me and take things day by day you know?”
Valentina: “You know whatever works for you Marcie, I’m all for it!” She smiles a little. “I just want you to be happy and thrive! Let’s check out. I’m going to get these sunglasses and purse! Do you want me to put anything on the Amex for you?”
Marcie: “No! One thing Jon always gave me was an extra…” She pulls out a black AmEx. “One of these!”
Valentina: “Well here’s to putting it on the husbands Amex!”
The ‘Wives laugh and the scene ends.
We get shots of central Paris during Fashion Week. The scene lands on a venue. Inside, there is a backstage area where models are getting their makeup done and fitted in garments. The camera follows Olivia as she walks into the glam area and looks at everyone’s makeup.
“Nothing will ruin this day for me. Serena has completely went MIA so I’ve had to hire a Paris native to style my girls. I can’t believe she’d do this to me, I really thought they were my friends but I won’t let it dim my shine. Let’s do this!”
The camera lands on the makeup artists as they continue doing makeup.
Olivia: “Ladies! We only have an hour until the show starts. If you haven’t already been dressed in your look, please go and do that now!”
We see Olivia walk over to Violette and Monsè who are getting their makeup done side by side.
Olivia: “Monsè, you look fabulous in that outfit! Are you ready?”
Monsè: “Yess, thank you babe, can’t wait to represent! Thanks again for letting me walk in the show hunni!” She gives Olivia air kisses.
Violette: “Don’t fall, honey!” She smirks.
Olivia: “Of course, I’m so sorry that Serena didn’t show up to style and I couldn’t reach Marcie this morning. I think she’s hungover mixing the pills and alcohol…but Pierre has done a great job.”
Violette: “It’s okay! You’ve go this covered.” She nods. “You shoould be proud of yourself, Liv!”
“It’s been such a struggle to pick back up and start designing after my 5 year hiatus but the day is here.”
The scene switches to outside in the seating area. Yvonne , Valentina, and Marcie sit front row and mingle with some guests.
Yvonne: “Yes, I have an art gallery in Beverly Beach. We are launching a new exhibit next month on Mediterranean Art. You should book a flight and stop by!”
Valentina is shown turning to Yvonne.
Valentina: “I just can’t wait to see the show!”
As the lights dim, the scene goes back to Monsè and Violette as they are lined u together as they get ready to walk.
Olivia: “It’s time girls!”
“It’s show time and I couldn’t be happier!”
Models now start strutting down the runway. As Monsè walks, we get a shot of Violette grinning backstage and clapping a bit at the end of the line.
Violette: “Woooo! You go Monsè!”
In the audience; Marcie, Yvonne, and Valentina clap.
Marcie: “Oh that’s MonSLAYYYY today hunni!”
Valentina: “Monse is killing this runway!! GET IT SISTER!” She claps.
Yvonne: “Oh my, looks like her wig was coming off a bit.” She claps gingerly.
“Save the best for last. You know? I am the entree. Monsè is the appetizer. She is rolls, no butter. I am snow crab legs, drenched in sauce. There’s no comparison! I just look so damn good!”
We now see Valentina, Yvonne, and Marcie in the audience as the show goes on.
Marcie: “Oh wow that’s gorgeous!” She points to a model.
Yvonne is seen nodding along and Valentina takes a video.
“And she wants to say Weston didn’t design some of this. That has his name all over it!” She laughs.
Violette is seen walking out and closing the show. The shot lands on Marcie, Valentina, and Yvonne in the audience.
Marcie: “Is that Violette?” She squints.
Valentina: “Now that looks like something Olivia designed!”
Yvonne: “A tacky quilt…”
“I obviously did much better than Monsè. Like, the girls obviously agree!”
We get a shot of the ‘Wives in the audience not clapping for Violette.
“I mean… the true winner right here.”
As Violette closes the show, we see Olivia give her a hug as she gets off stage.
The models line up for the final walkthrough and Olivia walks on stage behind them as the audience all claps.
Marcie: “AAAAAH THATS OUR GIRL!” She stands up claps.
The camera focuses on Olivia who is up on the catwalk with a microphone.
Olivia: “Thank you all!” She raises her hand and waves.
The camera pans to Olivia’s husband, Brandon, standing with flowers in the front row. Olivia grins and puts her hand on her chest as she smiles uncontrollably.
“My husband always shows up for me. I can’t believe he surprised me like this.”
Music plays as the auidence begins getting up and leaving. A production assistant takes Valentina, Marcie, and Yvonne backstage.
We see Olivia chatting with Monsè and Violette as they change and get their makeup taken off.
Valentina immediately goes up to Monsè and hugs her.
Valentina: “You killed it babe!”
Monsè: “Thank you babe! That was so much fun. Don’t be surprised if you see me on another runway soon.”
We see Olivia roll her eyes a bit.
Olivia: “Thanks for coming Valentina, Marcie, and Yvonne. I hope is exceeded your expectations!” She smiles.
Marcie: “Thank you for inviting us! This is such an amazing show you put together Olivia!”
Olivia: “Thank you, Marcie!” She hugs her. “It’s been such a journey but I’m glad I did it!”
Marcie: “You should be so so proud!”
Brandon comes over with a cracked bottle of champagne.
Brandon: “You ladies catch up and enjoy! Beautiful job once again, Liv! I love you. I’ll see you back at my hotel tonight!” He winks and kisses her.
He hands each of the ladies a champagne flute before walking away. The camera focuses on Valentina as she sips her champagne and then sets it down on a nearby makeup station.
Valentina: “So, Olivia — I FaceTimed Weston he said Monse’s dress was his dress design that you originally said you hated! What’s going on with that.” She raises an eyebrow.
Yvonne: “Really?” She looks at Valentina.
We see Monsè make a face and then Olivia look at Valentina, a bit upset.
“These ladies love to call me the messy one, the backstabber, the person they can’t trust but look who’s backstage after a big moment causing a ruckus after saying she would be on her P’s and Q’s.”
Monsè: “He may have stuck me with a needle several times fitting this dress on me but I think that’s about all the contribution he made.” She giggles.
Violette: “Yeah, he wasn’t really involved much, Val.”
Olivia nods along.
“The ditzy aged blonde with the bad tan and plastic surgery strikes again.” She shakes her head. “I’m surprised Weston is even talking to her after she threw him under the bus.”
Olivia: “Valentina, please do not try and ruin my day with lies. Weston did not work on this line, I did this all myself. Monse knows, she was at the Agency. Marcie saw my designs too, and Serena.” She narrows her eyes at Valentina.
Valentina: “Look girls he clearly isn’t here so it makes me wonder if you’re trying to keep him quiet for something…” She looks around. “Monsè just said he tailored her dress. So which is it? He didn’t or did contribute to this line.” She folds her arms.
Monsè makes a ‘yikes’ face.
She shakes her head.
“Now Val… We couldn’t behave just once? Girl, you know better. Olivia’s gonna get you.”
Olivia looks annoyed.
Olivia: “I told my employee to fit it on her, yes. I’m sorry Val — the owner of a company isn’t going to get on her hands and knees to fit a dress. I know you’d certainly get down on your hands and knees for a bag, but I’m past that point in my life.”
Marcie: “Valentina I went to her studio.. these were all things in her sketchbook. Let’s just.. sip some cocktails have fun!”
Olivia: “Exactly.” She rolls her eyes. “Are you upset you didn’t get a tour of the agency? Come on down when we get back, babe. I’ll even let you try on a dress and take your photo so you’ll feel included.”
“I lose brain cells communicating with Valentina. I’m not even sure what she does for a living. Does she do anything?”
Valentina looks around at the group.
Valentina: “Are you girls seriously all scared of Olivia Blake?” She laughs. “Why are you all acting like she’s some saint and trying to help her save face? I don’t need to see the Agency babe especially after you just insulted me for asking a direct question.”
Olivia: “No one is scared of me, here. I’m just a nice woman who is trying to enjoy her passion. My friends want to celebrate my success. That is what a true friend group of girls do — they uplift.”
Violette: “It’s not about us trying to help her save face, Valentina. It’s about her brand and her business. This is inappropriate for you to do at her fashion show. Knock it off and have some class. This is the second time on the trip you’ve tried to do this to her.” She purses her lips.
Olivia: “That part! You’re not being a girls girl — you’re being a hater, Valentina.” She glares at Valentina.
Valentina: “I’m not being a hater babe. I’m actually just a realist. I know you’re use to ass kisser in your corner but I’m not going to kiss your ass for a spot in your fashion show. I’m worldwide!” She shrugs. “Like I said, I’m just the only one who’s not scared of you!”
Yvonne laughs.
Yvonne: “Please, we are not scared of Olivia Blake.” She motions around to the ‘Wives. “Well, Marcie probably is.” She snorts.
We get a shot of Marcie whipping her head in Yvonne’s direction.
Marcie: “Yvonne why don’t you shut the fuck up about me?”
The ‘Wives looks over at Marcie, shocked. The episode goes to commercial.
Yvonne: “Please, we are not scared of Olivia Blake.” She motions around to the ‘Wives. “Well, Marcie probably is.” She snorts.
We get a shot of Marcie whipping her head in Yvonne’s direction.
Marcie: “Yvonne why don’t you shut the fuck up about me? You love talking about me and my life. Get your own!” She points at Yvonne.
Monsè: “Oh mon dieu!” She shakes her head.
“Spin on a stick and maybe it’ll tell you your pregnant because you want your geriatric ass to be younger Yvonne.”
Marcie: “Yvonne why are you even here? You shat on Olivia all last night. Like why come?” She looks at Yvonne. “To hate under your breath like always?”
Violette: “Ohhhh, ohhh! Wow!” She smirks at Marcie.
Yvonne looks at Marcie, a bit taken off guard before she regains her composure.
Yvonne: “Why are you here? Shouldn’t you be filing divorce papers? Like really, no one wants to talk about you and the man you won’t leave.”
Marcie: “Oh really and who talks to you? I am allowed to cope like you do selling fucking paintings.”
Yvonne: “More people than you’ll ever know!”
Marcie: “Oh really? You don’t even have that many people that like you that are still alive anymore, Yvonne. Go the fuck home!”
Monsè covers her mouth and looks at Valentina. Violette lets out a giggle.
Yvonne: “Will you have a home to go back to?”
Marcie: “You’re such a miserable old fucking hag like seriously. Try being nice for once!” She sips her champagne.
Yvonne: “You need to fill the void in your heart by looking inside to find what makes you happy instead of throwing petty little insults over nothing. I swear you girls all use the same lines- ‘you’re miserable, you’re miserable’ but who was falling over into bushes weeping just a few months ago?”
Marcie: “I have money, always have. You just sift Horace’s cash to the side and shift it back to yours when necessary. You don’t sell shit in that gallery!” She shakes her head and glares at Yvonne.
Violette: “Oh my gosh!” She covers her mouth.
Yvonne looks taken aback.
Yvonne: “Really, Marcie? Now you’re accusing me of that? You sit and check to make sure the electric is on. Whose hair do you do?”
Marcie: “Get a fucking life and quit talking about mine.” She begins grabbing her stuff. “I’m done with her ass!” She points to Yvonne.
The camera pans to Marcie as she begins walking out with Production who is talking to her.
Yvonne: “That was so disgusting.”
Yvonne looks to Olivia, Valentina, Violette, and Monsè.
Yvonne: “I’m in my right mind to sue her for defamation. She should be lucky she isn’t liable for what’s happened to Valentina.”
The group looks shocked as Marcie walks out.
Valentina: “Who’s ready for dinner?”
Olivia: “Valentina you started all of this! You ruined my day!” She looks pissed.
Valentina: “I kept it real with you Olivia. You should try being real instead of that facade you front for!”
Olivia puts both her middle fingers up at Valentina and then begins following Marcie out.
Olivia: “Marcie come back!”
“Yvonne getting verbally assaulted by Marcie was unexpected!” She laughs. “That’s two days in a row Yvonne was put in her place. She should be humble now. I know I would be. Getting embarrassed by the cast hair stylist is shameful.” She looks off camera. “Oh, she doesn’t do everyone’s hair?” She laughs. “Oh I just assumed… they always said that.”
The episode ends.
