[S8E12]: Dirty Dresses and Scorned Exes’
Shots of Beverly Beach appear on the screen.
We now get various shots of the women getting ready for an event. They chat with their glam team as they get their hair and makeup done.
The scene settles on a gorgeous, upscale outdoor venue.
Expensive jewelry is being out on display. We see Heidi running around frantically putting last minute details on the tables as guests begin to trickle in.
Heidi: “Hey! Sir!” She grabs a member of the staff. “We need some more candles on the table, ASAP! People are already starting to — “ She pauses and puts on a smile. “Giorgio! Mercedes! How are you two?” She goes to hug a couple that has approached her.
“Tonight is special because my friend is one of the top jewelers in Beverly Beach and she offered to donate jewelry to benefit the Youth Mental Health Foundation. Being a board member has been the honor of a lifetime. I’ve invited the girls out for an evening of philanthropy mixed with and shopping! Hopefully everyone acts their best but I guess you never know!”
The camera follows Marcie who is the first wife to arrive. She quickly spots Heidi and walks over.
Marcie: “Hi Heidi!”
Heidi: “Hello, Marcie! So happy you made it past security this time!”
The women laugh and give one another a hug.
Marcie: “This is gorgeous! Look at all that jewelry!” She looks around the party. “ I’m definitely grateful to be here! This is such an important and amazing charity!” She smiles.
Heidi: “Thank you for supporting. All proceeds to the foundation so don’t be cheap!”
“I will always support Heidi in raising money for the Youth Mental Health Foundation. It’s a cause that really speaks to me because I had a rough childhood, it means a lot to me.”
Valentina Armani now walks into the venue and looks around.
Valentina: “This has Heidi all over it.” She says to herself as she examines a nearby necklace.
Valentina eventually finds Marcie and Heidi chatting by one of the bars.
Heidi: “Hi girlie!” She hugs Val. “What do we call this look?! So fabulous!”
Marcie: “I love the dress!”
Valentina: “Thanks girls, I’m just trying to be sexy and classy!” She smiles.
Valentina first orders a glass of champagne at the bar, then the three women stand off to the side to chat.
Valentina: “How are you after the other night, Marcie?” She sips her champagne.
Marcie: “I’m scared.” She laughs. “These girls feel a way about me — it’s apparent. I’ll just be professional and kind.” She shrugs.
Heidi: “Take the high road, Marcie. Make Sheridan look like the beast that she is. Although, that won’t be hard.”
Valentina: “Well, alrighty then!”
“It was clear at Sheridan’s Labor Day party that some of the women don’t have any respect for me. I really did try to say my piece but…” She shrugs.
“Yeah — I just don’t like confrontation. I don’t like to fight, so I’m just going to be nice and polite from now on to avoid any problems. All I can hope is Sheridan just ignores me all night. I don’t want to fight with someone at a charity event.. again.”
We get shots of Imani and Sheridan getting out of a car service and walking into the party.
“I find Heidi’s entire demeanor very tacky. I don’t have anything against the woman but after the way she acted at my Sisterhood Soirée — There’s something very odd that gives me the ick, but I know this is a good cause so l decided to waste a cute outfit and support her from the kindness of my heart.”
As Sheridan and Imani greet and mingle with Heidi, Valentina, and Marcie; The camera pans to show Yvonne and Serena enter the Trunk Show together.
Serena: “It’s very…it’s dark.” She chuckles.
Yvonne: “I’m sure it doesn’t help that you’re dressed in black.” She giggles.
Serena and Yvonne make their way to the group.
We get a shot of Heidi sipping her drink and turning her nose up as Yvonne and Serena approach.
“Yuck! Here comes granny with her granddaughter. Tonight I’m just going to avoid Yvonne. I have nothing to say to her… nothing nice at least.”
Serena: “Hello everyone! Nice to see you all again. Everyone looks amazing in their dresses.” She smiles.
Marcie: “Hi girls! Serena, thanks for doing my hair tonight! I love it!” She flips her hair.
Serena: “Yess!! I’m glad I could be of service to you guys.” She smiles.
We now see flashback cellphone footage of earlier in the day as Serena did the group’s hair in the morning.
“Not to toot my own horn, but I’ve serviced some big names in my time… so these ladies were a walk in the Louis Vuitton store for me! Easy! When we were at the winery, I came up with the idea to do everyone’s hair for Heidi’s Trunk Show…
“Since Marcie feels like the ladies are kind of gunning for her, I wanted to really show everyone that I am in this same profession just to see how they respond to me as a service provider. Also, it’ll help in my expansion! A businesswoman knows how to turn anything into a great business opportunity. Cha-ching!”
Imani: “You are for sure a top hair stylist! I love my look.”
Serena: “I definitely understand the assignment, for sure.” She hugs Imani and Sheridan.
Imani: “You sure do babe! You look amazing!”
Sheridan: “Where is Valentina? I bet she’s at the bar, let me go find her!” She walks off.
The music changes as the camera pans to the outside of the event. Jac is at the security point talking to the guard.
Jac: “Hi love, I believe we met at the last event Heidi hosted! Lovely to see you.” She smiles.
“Am I excited about tonight? Hmmm…” LuAnn voice. “Not really! Between Sheridan’s putrid behaviour towards me and the nonsense that is Imani, I’m here to donate to charity, see the girls I like and then bounce.”
Once Jac is in, she makes her way to the group of ‘Wives.
Marcie: “Hey Jac!”
Jac: “Hi love! Look at these feathers! Ready for the Dancing with the Stars stage I see.”
Marcie: “Yes I am!” She shimmies.
Heidi: “Hello Miss Jac! How are you, lovely?”
Jac: “Hi doll!” She hugs her. “I’m great! Look at this gown! I love it! The breasts look fabulous.”
Heidi: “Oh thank you honey! And same to you. The pregnancy glow is doing all the things!”
There is a shot of Imani rolling her eyes, she walks off to the bar. The shot switches to show Valentina and Sheridan at the bar.
Valentina: “We’ll do two shots please! Actually, make it four. These girls always have me on edge.”
Sheridan: “Yesss shots!”
Imani walks over and joins Valentina and Sheridan.
Sheridan: “Imani! Come take a shot with us!” She hands her one.
Imani: “I need this!” She throws it back. “Girls, I had to walk away because that monster just walked in.”
There is footage of Jac socializing with Yvonne and Serena on the other side of the party.
“Unlike Big Build-A-Bear Heidi, I have manners. I’m not going to acknowledge Jac tonight despite the nasty drama she created on Twitter the other day.”
She discredited my domestic abuse experience and that’s unforgivable.”
Sheridan: “After how Jac behaved with me at her home and then how she’s treated Imani, I don’t even know if I want to go over there.”
Valentina: “Damn.”
The scene switches to Jac talking with Serena and Yvonne.
Jac: “Yvonne, now with that outfit did you come from a business meeting?”
Yvonne: “Yes, I’m always making money and running businesses, never waiting on a man to take care of me!” She smiles.
Jac: “I love that! You and I! Businesswomen!”
Yvonne: “Speaking of business, I think you have some unfinished with Imani and Sheridan…”
Serena looks over at Jac, Jac just plasters a smile on her face.
Jac: “Oh? I do? Well, I’m not interested in that tonight my sweets.” She throws her hands up. “I’m here for charity.” She motions around. “Please do excuse me, I have to use the bathroom. The baby is on my bladder.” She laughs and walks off to the bathroom.
“I see Yvonne looking at me with those beady eyes like she’s ready to start something. I don’t have the time for that right now and I need to pee, so off to the bathroom I go!”
Yvonne: “Oh…okay.” She turns to Serena. “That was weird.”
Serena: “Very weird.”
As Imani, Valentina, and Sheridan remain at the bar talking — The rest of the ‘Wives find a seating area.
Heidi: “I just wanted to thank our new resident hairstylist Serena Ames Dianna for doing our hair. She’s just so fabulous in every which way!” She holds her drink up.
Serena: “Thank you!” She looks around. “Ames Beauty will service you and anyone you need..”
Heidi: “You really did a lovely job.”
There is a shot of Marcie politely smiling, she stays quiet and sips on her champagne.
“I actually like Serena, but the way these girls belittled me and uplift her yeah it just feels like another dig. It’s a shitty feeling. It makes it hard for me to like — want to be here.”
Heidi goes back to mingling with guests. Marcie shops around. We get shots of the party. Serena and Yvonne walk over to Imani, Sheridan, and Valentina.
Serena: “Hello beautifuls!”
Sheridan: “Hello Yvonne and Serena welcome to the fun girls clique! We are doing shots and shaking it!” She dances a little and laughs.
Yvonne: “I do both very well.” She smirks.
Valentina: “Hi honey, would you like a shot?” She looks at Serena.
Serena: “I’d take a tequila shot, please.”
Valentina gets Serena a shot and the small group begins talking.
Imani: “Well, is Monsè coming? We need the fun girls crew together!”
Sheridan: “I don’t think Monse is able to make it tonight. I miss her!” She frowns.
Imani: “Ugh, same!” She looks at Serena. “You’re part of the Fun Girl Crew… just for tonight. As long as you don’t go into my house and try to use my bathroom like some other uneducated girls here.”
Serena: “Yess to the fun girls crew! I’ll take that. I respect the castles of others. So we’ll be just fine.”
On the microphone, Heidi makes an announcement to start sitting for dinner.
At the tables, the ‘Wives sit down. Yvonne, Jac, Serena, sit on one side. Across from them Imani, Sheridan, Heidi, and Marcie are seated. As salads are being brought out, the camera focuses on Sheridan and Heidi who are seated next to one another.
Heidi: “Sheridan, this dress is very cute. It compliments your figure well.” She smiles and looks Sheridan up and down.
Sheridan: “Thank you, Heidi.” She takes a bite of her salad.
“This damn woman is so —” She makes a face. “We never know which Heidi we are going to get!”
Imani: “So ladies — the other day I hosted a Sisterhood Soirée. I’m mad you weren’t there Marcie because I want to get to know you.”
Marcie: “Oh I apologize, I’m opening a new salon so there’s just a lot going on I’ve been prioritizing but I’d love to get drinks or dinner soon.” She smiles.
Yvonne: “I thought you skipped, Marcie, because you’ve been avoiding Sheridan. That’s what it seems like since Hawaii…” She shrugs.
Sheridan: “Look, I’m tired of the bullshit over petty shit. Marcie, we will talk. Not tonight, but we will talk. Okay?”
Marcie: “Totally absolutely, Sheridan.” She nods and takes a sip of her whisky.
“Not doing it tonight, but it’s time to move on. It’s not deep and this woman seems to be terrified of me and I don’t like that.”
Imani: “Oh! I do also have to tell you girls — I’m meeting up with Monse’s sister soon. I don’t know how to feel about it because those that know me know that I go from 0 to 10000 quick.”
We get shots of some of the women looking confused.
Heidi: “Her sister?” She raises her eyebrow.
Sheridan: “Yeah, you two have unresolved issues, right?”
Imani: “Yes. Earlier this year I dated this man, attended events with him, and turns out Monsè’s sister, Phoebe was hooking up with him.”
Yvonne: “Very scandalous.” She lets out a chuckle.
Imani: “I still haven’t processed it fully and Monsè and I already talked about it but I just could… never be the other woman like others.” She looks at Jac.
Serena: “Damn, these ladies are dangerous.” She sets her fork down and laughs.
The pans to Jac who looks unintrested as she picks at her food.
“Monsè’s sister was fucking your man? Ohhh poor thing. Was he really your man or was he leaving a stack of ones on the bedside table of the local run down motel on the regular? Girl, please.”
Imani: “What would you girls do? It’s a tricky situation because I genuinely like Monsè…but my feelings are hurt.”
Marcie: “I’d talk to her directly about it, try to resolve it.”
Serena: “I’d be honest and upfront! I really do feel sorry that you’re dealing with this. Some men can really be two timers. Just be honest.”
Valentina: “You need to talk to her Imani. I think it’s a conversation worth having. I mean I definitely wouldn’t solely blame her for hooking up with your man. It takes two to tango!”
Sheridan nods along.
Sheridan: “Like I told you before, I agree with what these ladies say. She may have genuinely not known about you. I know you told me she definitely has seen you, but maybe he was telling her something different.”
Yvonne: “Imani said he worked in finance so Phoebe was trying to just figure out how she could get some money out of him. She isn’t having the best career luck right now…” She shrugs.
“Imani is wayyy too beautiful to be in this situation! Girl, call me! I have a few rich men waiting to treat you like the queen you are. Leave the fools to tend to fools work.”
Imani keeps talking as the first course comes out; a roast hen with potatoes and a carrot pureè.
Imani: “Dating is hard for me because my ex husband physically abused me after I gave birth to my daughter because I wasn’t giving him attention, so his way of coping with my postpartum depression was going out and cheating on me.”
Sheridan reaches next to her and hugs Imani.
Sheridan: “You’ll find the right man, I just know it babe.”
Imani: “Hopefully! Fingers crossed!”
Yvonne: “Ladies, I also have a confession to make.” She holds her hands up.
We get a shot of Marcie raising an eyebrow as she cuts into her dinner.
Yvonne: “Look, I don’t really think there’s an easy way to say this but if you all received some information about a marriage in our group, would you mention it to the woman it’s about?”
Heidi: “Of course, I would hope so.” She takes a bite of food and looks around.
Imani: “Well…Yes. If it’s accurate, I would like to know.”
Valentina: “The last time that happened I flipped out so I would say depending on the information.”
Serena: “Not somebody’s marriage. I would definitely have a talk with them. Especially if I knew I’d be around them a lot.” She whispers to Yvonne. “It’s not me, is it?”
Yvonne shakes her head.
“Serena seems so concerned about wheter the information is about her. Hmm seems like there’s more than just dresses in her closet!”
Jac: “Are you friends with the woman in this group?” She snorts and looks at Yvonne.
Yvonne: “Well, that depends Jac. Do you consider me a friend?” She cocks her head.
Jac: “You have information pertaining to my marriage?” She raises an eyebrow.
All of the women at the table look at Yvonne in anticipation.
Yvonne: “I had a conversation recently with a friend who is also friendly with Beau’s family and she didn’t have the nicest information to relay.” She casually begins cutting her hen.
Jac: “Of course you did.” She lets out a deep breathe while rolling her eyes. “Do you want to hurry this up and tell us all in a group setting at a charity event what was relayed to you by this anonymous source?”
Sheridan looks at Yvonne and then back to Jac.
Sheridan: “Just so you know, she’s not referring to me. I don’t know Beau’s family so don’t point your finger at me Mrs. Carter.”
“Poor Jacqueline… Her baby might just come out with wrinkles and high blood pressure. The way my girl is going through it, is scaring me.”
Yvonne: “Since you want to be rude, I’ll be frank, Jac. Are you having this baby to save your marriage from the brink of divorce?”
Valentina: “YVONNE!” She almost chokes on the food in her mouth.
Jac bursts out laughing.
Valentina: “Oh my God.” She shakes her head whilst looking horrified.
Jac: “Yvonne, are you serious? I didn’t even know I was pregnant.”
Yvonne: “You didn’t?”
The camera pans to Sheridan who watches the exchange while eating.
“I don’t believe she’s having the baby to save her marriage. I do believe that the baby is being born into an unhappy marriage. I just really hope they can repair their issues.”
We get a shot of Serena who has her head in her hands.
Heidi: “That’s low Yvonne — even for you.”
Yvonne: “I’m saying what was said to me. Her husband had fallen out of love with her but if she has a baby, what person from a respectable family would start divorce proceedings?”
Jac: “Oh please.” She waves her hand dismissively at Yvonne.
“Yvonne’s memory isn’t what it used to be. I understand that ones cognitive functions significantly deteriorate as they enter their late 60s but I’m almost certain I told these girls in Hawaii that I had no idea about this baby until I was 13 weeks pregnant. Yvonne is just trying to poke at me just like Sheridan does.”
“I don’t want this to be a big thing with Jacqueline, I’m coming from the place of a concerned woman who doesn’t want another woman bringing life into this world when she hasn’t gotten her home in order.”
Yvonne: “It’s not that I believe it or I want to spread it, I just want to hear from Jac about the rumors going around about her.”
Jac: “Oh you don’t want to spread it. So telling 8 women in a group isn’t spreading it? I’m telling you, that isn’t the case.”
Yvonne: “Telling other women who have probably heard about it too and are just too afraid to say it? Yeah, that’s spreading it Jac!”
Valentina: “Has anyone else heard this rumor too?”
“I’m blown away by this information. I’ve met Beau on an occasion and they’ve always seemed lovely to me.”
Jac: “So ridiculous! Per usual!” She looks annoyed as she tries to eat some of her food. “Yvonne, you’re a miserable, old, bitter woman with nothing better to do with her time than sell finger paintings and drop these unsubstantiated bombs.”
Yvonne: “And there’s the real Jacqueline that’s fired from her gig!” She laughs. “I’m glad she decided to show up.”
Heidi: “Girls, let’s try to not get too loud…” She shakes her head.
“Not only am I just absolutely disgusted at what she just said but to bring this up at a charity event is purely morally corrupt. Listen — Beverly Beach is a small town. I’m sure everyone has heard that rumor but there’s also plenty of rumors about Yvonne out there too. If I were her I’d just lay low.”
The camera pans to Sheridan.
Sheridan: “Jacqueline, be honest.” She tucks a piece of hair behind her ear.
Jac’s head snaps in Sheridan’s direction.
Jac: “Sheridan, please focus on the next pro athlete you plan on spreading your vagina to and don’t focus on my MARRIAGE!”
We get a quick shot as people at a nearby table all look over at the ‘Wives as Jac raises her voice.
Back at the table, Sheridan’s jaw is on the floor and she just looks at Jac.
Sheridan: “You know what, I wasn’t going to even say anything and give you the chance to tell the truth about your life for once.” She sighs. “Beau is unhappy in the marriage.”
Heidi: “Sheridan! Girls! Not here!” She looks a little panicy.
Imani: “We all have heard the rumor, right?”
“I did not want to do it but she pushed me to the point. She hit a low blow about my relationship so I’ll be truthful about hers.”
We see Imani look to Marcie.
Imani: “Marcie, have you heard it!”
Heidi: “Be honest.” She cocks her head at Marcie.
Marcie: “Look — I heard it…” She looks at Jac nervously. “But I told Yvonne I don’t believe it which is why I never brought it up to you, Jac.”
Serena: “Okay guys, wait a minute. I don’t know if we should be ganging up on her. She’s still with child.”
The camera pans to Jac who is just looking down, frustrated, and shaking her head.
Jac: “My God…” She rolls her eyes. “This is too much. Why are you all so worried about my man? Sheridan, where is your man? Laid up with a Rams cheerleader whilst the blonde dye atop your head seeps into your brain.”
Marcie: “Girls this is not the place let’s do this sometime else.”
Imani: “Well. It’s never the time, Jac is always turning up and spewing lies, so when IS the time?”
Heidi: “Everyone please take it down a notch. Be professional.”
We get shots of the wealthy party goers looking over at the chaos that is unfolding in the middle of dinner.
Sheridan: “Why is Beau sleeping in the spare room in Beverly Beach?! Why does he spend most nights back in Twitter?! Why is Annabelle going to sleep without her father in the home every night?!”
Jac begins to stand up.
Jac: “Okay, I think I’m done for the night. I don’t need this gremlin…” She points at Yvonne. “This worn out condom…” She points at Sheridan. “And this botched Barbie…” She points to Imani. “Speaking about me and my family. I pray that you are each blessed with a loving man and a family. I can’t imagine what it must feel like to be barren or in a relationship with our friends abusive ex or be a cumdump for a financier.”
Imani: “Girl shut it! You’re always talking about everyone’s family, whole time you’re struggling in yours.” She scoffs. “Go, get lost, go cry yourself to sleep thinking your man will love you.”
Jac: “BYE CUMDUMP!” She waves.
We hear multiple people gasp at Jac.
The President of the Youth Mental Health Foundation is talking to security. Now the security is coming over.
Sheridan: “Jacqueline, stop being a delusional bitch and throwing shots and go take a shot of marriage counseling bitch and maybe that’ll save the dilapidated union!”
Yvonne: “I believe that Jacqueline isn’t forthcoming while she’s digging into other peoples stuff.”
“She can run away now, I’m sure the divorce papers aren’t too far behind.” She shrugs. “ At least her alimony payments will be substantial.”
We get a shot of Jac storming out of the party.
Jac: “These fucking bitches.” We hear her sniffle.
“I’m done. I’m so done with Yvonne, Sheridan and Imani. I’m a pregnant woman and this is how they speak to me? Really? At this point, I don’t ever see myself coming around these ladies ever again.”
Back at the Trunk Show, Heidi stands up to talk to the three security guards that have now walked over.
Heidi: “I’m so embarrassed it’s time for them to all go.”
We hear murmurs at the party while all eyes are on the ‘Wives at their table, being talked to by security and the President of the Youth Mental Health Project.
President: “Heidi, may I have a word with you.”
Valentina: “You guys, I think we are being kicked out…” She looks up at the guards.
Heidi stands up and walks over to talk to the women.
President: “Heidi, I’m going to have to ask you and your guests to leave. I can close the event on your behalf. The ladies you brought to this do not reflect well on the image of this charity. I have donors asking questions. You and your friends, leave now.”
Heidi: “Absolutely. I’m — I’m mortified. I am so sorry Marissa.”
Heidi walks back over to the table with her head down. People are still looking over to see what is going on.
Heidi: “Listen, I’m quite honestly appalled at the behavior shown tonight. You all need to start acting your age. This is so embarrassing. Please, everyone leave.”
Imani: “Didn’t you call someone fat at my event out of nowhere?”
Serena: “Wait! I didn’t buy any jewelry yet.”
Sheridan: “Heidi, babe, you got kicked out too bring you and the dirty gown on out!”
We see Marcie collect her things quietly and walk out before the rest of the group.
Valentina: “Oh my god! I’ve never been kicked out if a charity event.”
Heidi: “Leave. Now.” She points at the exit and glares at the group.
Valentina: “This is embarrassing!”
Heidi: “All of you. Hurry. NOW!!”
Security: “You too, ma’am.”
Sheridan rolls her eyes and chuckles as she gets up.
“Heidi walks over to us to kick us out as security is trying to make her understand she’s been kicked out too. She’s so embarrassing.”
Yvonne: “Serena, come on. Let’s go eat this alcohol away.”
Serena: “Yes!”
Yvonne: “Imani, Sheridan, Valentina. Are you hungry? We can all go eat, my treat for starting this.”
The scene ends with the ‘Wives being escorted out of the party by security.
The camera pans over Monsè’s beautiful Beverly Beach home. Inside, Monsè and Phoebe stand in the kitchen. We see Phoebe eating on a taco as Monsè cleans the kitchen.
Monsè: “Phoebe, make sure your outfit it steamed. You can’t be walking into the interview with a wrinkled dress…”
Phoebe: “I’m on it! I already did it.” She rolls her eyes a little.
Monsè: “I’m just trying to help you.” She shrugs and finishes putting the pans in the sink.
“I’ve invited Marcie over today to help Phoebe get her hair done for an interview with a modeling company. Honestly, she wasn’t my first choice but the last girl canceled. Desperate times, desperate measures.”
Outside, Marcie’s Bently is shown parking. She gets out and unloads her massive hair bag out of the trunk.
We see her walk up to the door and walk into the house.
Marcie: “Helllooo?”
Monsè: “ We’re in the kitchen, here…” She comes out to greet Marcie.
Marcie: “Hi Monsè!”
Monsè: “Thank you for coming on such short notice.”
Marcie: “Of course!”
Monsè leads Marcie into the kitchen where Phoebe is.
Marcie: “This must be Phoebe! So glad to be able to help!”
Phoebe: “Hi Marcie!” She gets up and hugs her. “Thank you so much, you’re totally saving me.”
Marcie: “Not a problem!” She begins digging supplies out of her bag.
“Monsè inviting me to help her out is interesting considering she was fully on the Sheridan gang up on Marcie at her beach party. Funny how tables turn and now I’m who she has to call.”
Marcie: “What results you like to see today Phoebe?”
Phoebe: “Something casual, but a little elegant, you know. Something that says ‘This bitch is professional!’”
Monsè: “Yeah, something like that…” She laughs.
Marcie: “Alright I’ve got just the idea in mind!”
“This lady’s not going to fuck up my hair, right?”
Marcie begins brushing Phoebe’s hair.
Marcie: “You have such a wonderful consistency Phoebe!”
Phoebe: “Thanks girl! I can already tell you know what you’re doing, not like some of these white ladies on set.”
Marcie: “Well Phoebe with the amount of salons I’ve run if I DIDN’T learn how to work with every texture that would be embarrassing!” She laughs. “Let me know if I’m pulling too much or if you have any knots I need to undo first!”
We get a shot of Monsè going to the fridge and pulling out a bottle of wine. She pours two glasses, she sets one next to Marcie as she works on Phoebe’s hair.
Monsè: “So Marcie, how have you been since we last saw each other? It’s been a minute and I wasn’t quite sure how we left off.”
“Last time I saw Marcie, I kind of jumped in to side with Sheridan and I hope that didn’t rub Marcie the wrong way. She’s a nice girl and hopefully she sees that we just want to get to know her better.”
Marcie: “Honestly Monsè I was surprised to hear from you.” She chuckles awkwardly. “I just didn’t really think you liked me from how we left off at Sheridan’s but you called me to do this so you obviously respect me which I’m grateful for.”
Monsè gasps and puts a hand on her heart.
Monsè: “Oh my gosh, no. I just wanted to clear up how Sheridan, and honestly a lot of us, were feeling.”
“Monsè is actually really nice so her behavior at Sheridan’s threw me a little. I didn’t realize how closed off I’ve been but joining a group like this, it’s hard to open up. Especially when people are known for weaponizing those things you open up about.”
Monsè: “It just seems like everyone knows Marcie the hairstylist, but who’s the real Marcie, you know?” She sips her wine.
Marcie: “I think because you ladies haven’t met my husband or my son you guys don’t have a very rounded picture or glance into my life…” She glances over at Monsè. “Only Yvonne I think has been to my house which is also my fault. I do want to get to know everyone better I just take a little to open up.”
Monsè: “Aw well invite us sometime, girl! I’d love to get to know that side of you.”
Marcie: “I’ll host a dinner party sometime!” She begins putting clips in Phoebe’s hair. “Just be glad you missed Heidi’s Trunk Show…”
We hear Monsè’s doorbell ring. We get a shot from the back of a tall women standing at the door. Moment’s later, Monsè answers the door and let’s Imani in.
Monsè: “Hey girl, come on in!”
“This is the first time that Phoebe and Imani are seeing other face to face since Imani told me what that Phoebe was hooking up with her man. Phoebe didn’t want to do this but I know how this group is. They just need to dead it so this doesn’t spiral into an issue that affects Imani and I’s separate relationship. I just hope they don’t kill each other.”
Monsè and Imani walk into the kitchen.
Imani: “Hey girlies!”
Marcie: “Oh hi Imani!”
Imani gives Marcie a hug. We get a shot of Phoebe as she avoids eye contact and buries her head in her phone. Imani sits at the counter and sets her bag down. Monsè goes to get her a glass of wine.
Marcie: “I was just telling Monsè about the Trunk Show…” She looks to Monsè. “It was a disaster. We got kicked out and there were rumors Heidi shit herself! It was crazy.”
Monsè: “She wha — ?!”
Imani lets out a laugh.
Imani: “Oh — that woman is a disaster! We attended her event, kicked us out, THEN security kicked her out. I never pay attention to her but I saw the blogs post she shat herself, I was dying.” She smirks and sips her wine.
Monsè: “Miss Heidi got kicked out of her own event?! Whew, the mess follows that one wherever she goes.”
“Build-A-Bear needs some pampers! I mean, come on, who claims to be class but randomly shits themselves? Did the event not have any toilet paper?”
There is a lull in conversation. We get another shot of Phoebe staying silent and just staring into her phone. We see Imani glance over and tap her acrylics on the wine glass.
Imani: “So…I know we’re talking about elephants but there’s a bigger elephant in the room to talk about.”
Monsè: “Yeah, let’s talk about it.” She nods. “Let’s just get everything out in the open, Phoebe?”
Marcie continues her hair as Imani looks over. Phoebe looks up and locks her phone, setting it in her lap.
Phoebe: “Hey Imani. Nice to see you.”
“Look, I swear I didn’t know they were together! But if she wants an apology, fine. Let’s get it over with, I don’t want to be THAT girl.”
Imani: “Look Phoebe. I think I haven’t had luck with relationships so every time I meet a guy and everything’s going well I’m immediately go ‘that’s the one’.” She plays with her hair. “We attended events with that man and you were there so of course I though, wow, she’s one of those gold diggers.”
Phoebe: “Well Im sorry about how everything went down, but I’m not a gold digger, I’m just trying to make a name for myself in this industry…” She sighs. “Derek told me y’all weren’t that serious, so if I got in the way of anything, I’m so sorry.”
Imani: “Isn’t that contradicting with I’m saying though?” She makes a face. “I’m not trying to disrespect you in your sisters home but you talked to him while I was talking to him and you knew about it.”
We get a shot of Marcie continuing to stay quiet and styling Phoebe’s hair.
“So Phoebe and Imani have an issue because Imani’s boyfriend is a slut? Got it ok! Minding mine!”
The camera pans to Phoebe.
Phoebe: “Everyone talks to everyone, though. You haven’t ever entertained two guys at the same time?”
Monsè makes a face at Phoebe’s statment and whips her head in Phoebe’s direction.
Monsè: “Girl — what you be doing in these streets?!”
Phoebe: “I’m just saying!” She shrugs and looks back at Imani. “If I knew you guys were doing more than just hooking up I never would’ve gotten involved.”
Imani: “I have standard and am grown woman. I don’t have time for that.” She motions at Phoebe. “I think you are wrong and I hope that is never done to you.”
“I think Phoebe is a cute girl but definitely not as attractive as me. I think she’s at a point in life where she’s confused and would do anything to get to the top, even if it means fucking other men and gold diggin’ those ‘these streets’ as she says. God bless her, but as they say, you lose them how you got them!”
Monsè: “I think what Phoebe is trying to say is that this guy gave her mixed messages, so this got a little murky, but homewrecking isn’t her style. Right?”
Phoebe glares at Monsè and then forces a smile, looking back at Imani.
Phoebe: “Right… Look Imani, I’ll apologize as many times as you want. I never wanted to ruin something you thought was ‘The One’, that’s not who I am. I hope we can just put this behind us.”
“That girl knows he was not The One.”
“Well, he needs not to be Phoebe’s One, or Two, or Three either. Messy ass…”
Imani: “Well. We can drop it. I accept your apology.” She looks to Monsè. “I’m doing it for you Monse, I know you’re going through tough times or I think that’s what Yvonne told me.”
Phoebe: “I’m just a girl trying to make it like everyone else. Hopefully this interview Im getting ready for will be the start of something great! But thanks Imani.”
Monsè: “Yay! We love conflict resolution!” She claps a little.
Marcie: “Well Phoebe, you should be all ready for your interview!” She holds up a portable mirror.
Phoebe: “Oh Marcie! I love it!”
The scene fades as we see Imani rolling her eyes.
The camera pans over a beautiful apple farm.
Now that it is fall, we see people dressed in jeans and plaid as they mill around the expansive orchard. The camera lands on Jac and Heidi who are picking apples.
Jac: “Do you mind grabbing that for me?”
Heidi: “Of course!” She reaches off and plucks an apple from the tree.
“After the other night, my plan was to really stay away from these ladies but I’ve had some time to cool off, so I’m wanting to catch up with Heidi to see how she’s going.”
As Heidi hands the apple over to Jac, Jac rubs her stomach and nods.
Jac: “Should we go get some cider and chat?”
Heidi: “Absolutely!”
“I’m happy to catch up with Jac. Ever since the trunk show I’ve been feeling so anxious. The behavior displayed by the women was… classless.”
There is a cute montage as Jac and Heidi head over to one of the vendors. They get their cider and sit at a nice little picnic bench.
Jac: “So — How are you?”
Heidi makes a face and then sips her cider.
Heidi: “I’ve been better to say the least.”
Jac: “Ugh, tell me about it.” She snorts. “Have you recovered from the other night?”
Heidi: “No.” She shakes her head. “I’m so distraught. I have to tell you something…” She clutches her chest. “The behavior displayed has me so embarrassed and has the charity so embarrassed that I heard they’re questioning my status on the board. Never again will I have the other girls around any event unless it’s personal.”
She tears up.
“I just can’t believe they acted this way. I thought this was the high society. A few of them have clearly never been to a high society event. Their behavior clearly shows their lack of exposure to the high class of Beverly Beach.”
Jac reaches across the picnic table and grabs Heidi’s hand.
Jac: “I’m very sorry for my role in the whole thing. I just felt like I couldn’t take it anymore. It was the three of them coming at me and I felt like no one stood up and had my back.”
“Look, I’m very apologetic for my choice of words at Heidi’s party.
It was very unbecoming of me but this is what happens when you push and you push and your push. At some point, I’m going to explode.”
Heidi: “How are you?”
Jac: “Honestly…” She takes a deep breath. “ don’t know what to think. The whole thing just caught me off guard. Between these allegations that I got pregnant to save my marriage and then this supposed friend of Yvonne’s having information about my husband…” She shakes her head. “It was too much. These girls seem to have no respect or compassion for the fact that I’m a pregnant woman. Im a pregnant woman who keeps coming to these events and keeps getting insulted or accosted or ambushed. It’s like what the heck?!”
Heidi: “Jac, it’s disgusting.” She nods. “You would think these girls are from the Bel Air Beach with the way they’re acting. I don’t blame you at all for standing up for yourself. Has Yvonne seemed… I don’t know off to you?”
Jac: “Honestly, im not really thinking about Yvonne right now. She claims to be my friend but spills this information at a charity event. For as long as I’ve known her, she’s always been the messy old lady at the party but this is another level.” She sips her cider and cocks her head. “Why? What do you think?”
Heidi: “Well…At Sheridan’s labor day party she made some degrading comments about how I must feel good about myself for working for CPS for 10 years and claimed I had an addiction. I don’t know Yvonne is just weird.”
Jac: “I see that.” She nods. “Can I ask — What the hell happened after I left the Trunk Show? I was reading in the press that everyone was kicked out? Is that true? Even you?”
We see Heidi suck in her cheeks, she looks embarrassed.
Heidi: “That is correct. The President of the Youth Mental Health Project asked the girls to leave because of the behavior displayed. I also left shortly after…”
Jac: “Did you leave or were you asked to leave?”
Heidi takes a long swig of her cider and tucks her hair behind her ear.
Heidi: “I was asked.”
Jac’s mouth drops.
Jac: “That’s shocking.”
Heidi: “No — It’s embarrassing.”
Jac: “Jeez, well I’m hopeful that y’all don’t act that way at my Couples’ Dinner tomrrow. Or you’ll be asked to leave.” She laughs.
Heidi: “Pro tip: Have security.” She laughs a little.
Jac: “I do have to ask…what about the dress? Someone was saying something about excrement or something on the dress. Is that…” She pauses. “you know, real?”
Heidi: “Who?! Taylor Thompson is a cunt.” She laughs. “Of course it’s not true! Don’t worry, darling; My attorneys have her handled.” She smiles.
Jac: “Ooop! Not the attorney, honey!”
“The Heids has an extensive legal team.”
Jac: “Anyways, girlie…” She gets up. “I should get going. Beau is at home and I need to put the finishing touches on this party tomorrow.”
Heidi: “It was lovely chatting today. See you tomorrow love.” She gives Jac a hug.
The episode ends as Heidi and Jac hug then walk their separate ways.
